Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May the Peace and Grace of our Lord be with you this day and all days………
Let’s grab our coffee and Bible and dig in for a few moments on this Friday………
There is no one without faults, not even men of God. They are men of God, not because they are faultless but because they know their own faults, they strive against them, they do not hide them and are ever ready to correct themselves. Mohandas Gandhi in Billy Graham’s Book, Leadership Secrets.
WOW! AMEN! Son Lars asked me a direct question the other day…that pained me of my business failure years ago…….it brought up painful memories and failures……..Lars could tell I was hurt, but I told him it was good to ask me that question and that I have learned from past mistakes and that I strive everyday to be a better man. It is good that we do not hide are mistakes, that we share what we learned from them so others do not make the same mistake. I have told me Dear Friends and I tell you all that you can ask me any question about anything at anytime. When we have COMPLETE FAITH in our Lord, we are an open book! There is such FREEDOM in that!!!!!
ps to this story: Lars said, “Dad, is that why you are always so worried about putting anything on your credit card? I said, AMEN to that!!!!! LOL LOL!!!! I hate credit cards!!!!!!!!!
Paul instructed Timothy to entrust the truths of the Gospel to “Trustworthy people who are able to pass them on to others.”
Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
I have sworn and confirmed
That I will keep Your righteous judgements.
Psalm 119: 105-106
I hate the double-minded,
But I love Your law.
You are my hiding place
and my shield;
I hope in Your word.
Psalm 119: 113-114
Last night I talked to Shona Neff (KKIM Sat 7:30am) Shona lives in White Rock, Martha in White Rock and Edna in Espanola. These three are just such wonderful friends! I call them for prayer and also check in with them on how the KKIM FM signal is booming all over Northern NM. Edna’s husband, Ruben has been having fainting spells, please keep him in your prayers. Our listenership continues to grow in Northern New Mexico, PRAISE GOD!
We are also see a good increase of listenership from our streaming audio at www.mykkim.com
So many people all over New Mexico, So. Colorado and now the World depend on KKIM/KARS for their Daily Bread!
Yesterday I took our new Market Manager for American General Media, Gary Cox down to visit with folks in the Belen/Los Lunas area. Gary got to meet Pastor’s Jim Montoya and Don Kimbro. While we were having a great lunch at Pete’s in Belen (Ryan, Al and Jose from KARS also joined us) anyhow Harry Teague who is running for Congress came in and we had a nice talk with him and were able to pray over him. Harry shared that he grew up in the Baptist Church. Very nice man with a good sense of humor!
This brings to mind this scripture……….
If your gift is to encourage others, do it! Romans 12:8
Let me share with you such a heart felt message from Sam……..We when we get notes like this it really fuels us to keep on moving……..

You are receiving the Day Nine update a little later than usual. That’s because I slept for twelve hours after returning to Dallas at 6:00 this morning. We are safely back, and ready to process all that happened in Flint, Michigan. Let me fill you in on our last day there.
9th Day, 9th Ward
The 9th Ward is unique, with a larger shopping district and more operating businesses than other wards, alongside the residential areas. We embarked on the ward after a time of prayer in which we reflected on the fact that I AM is with us in this battle. And it really is a battle in Flint. One Flintstone prayed in the morning that God be glorified, satan be horrified, and the people be edified. We said I AM is with us.
We went out and reached some “hard ground”: there were some really negative people. Even Christians we met said, “Flint is hopeless.” But after some initial negativity, we found the softened hearts of that ward. And that included a drug dealer. Our own Virginia marched up to this imposing man and said that someone had sent her to him that day. He instantly looked straight up to the sky. He knew God was after him.
Another heart that was ready belonged to a woman who lives in an apartment complex known in Flint as “little Beirut.” It’s considered a whole other world, where anything can happen. We had encountered her boyfriend earlier that week, and found her at the house alone. She spoke to us through the window, before Georgia, a Flintstone, asked her if she wanted prayer. The red light district working woman came out and gladly received prayer. But Georgia had only prayed one line before she stopped, and looked up, and asked “Do you want to receive the Lord today?” The answer came with zero hesitation: “Yes, ma’am.” She prayed a prayer of trust in Christ, and we hugged our new spiritual sister.
We met numerous others with serious needs, illness, cancer, prayer needs for children and work. We reconvened to pray at noon at a church called Ignite Flint.
Our friend Johnny the poet, who created the music for the reviveFLINT video, came and gave us the sobering news that a young man had been killed that morning.
We were reminded this is a serious battle, and the enemy is ruthless.
7pm prayer was a victory, a miracle. We had a group of fifty show up, with many new faces among them. Johnny the poet presented for us something he wrote at age 17, a spoken word piece like the sounds of Def Poetry. In it, God goes from asking “What can I do for you” to “What can’t I do for you?”
God can do anything.
In the midst of prayer, our respected elder Curtis stood up and said he felt like someone wanted to accept the Lord that night. He put a chair in the center of the circle. Immediately, Scott went up and took the chair. We put another chair out: someone else wanted to accept Christ. Latrice went and filled it. Another chair: Denise sat down. One more chair: we waited, and finally Dorothy, Keke’s mom sat down in it. Our whole group surrounded them as they prayed to surrender to Jesus and follow Him. We cried and hugged them, knowing their lives are changed forever. They have hope now that can only come from God.
We leave Flint with a vision. This is it: In April, we will reach every household in the city. If the people of Flint won’t (or can’t) “come to church,” the Church will come to them. Some people need a person to come to their door and tell them there’s hope, or else they’ll never know. The past nine days have been evidence of what a small group of people (the Dallas team and the Flintstones who have gone out every day) can affect a city. We saw that with evening prayer and how God brought together new family in the Body of Christ. Now we are asking what could happen if we went to every house – 57,000 in the city limits of Flint? Time to Revive has never approached a city in this way. It is uniquely Flint.
With 57,000 homes and nine days to reach each one, we will need 700 people. Teams of two will go out and encounter 18 households each day.
We believe change is coming, and it will take people following and knowing Christ. Every person in Flint will be invited to do just that, April 18 – 26, 2011.
During our drive home, we received a call telling us that four murders happened the night we left Flint. The night that four people’s lives were changed and rescued during our evening prayer, four people’s lives were taken away on the streets. This is a spiritual battle, and that terrible news we received is a wake-up call that we are soldiers fighting, not against any person, but against the spiritual strongholds in this city. We are enlisted, and must pray and fight. Flint needs an army of prayer and of love. It’s not an easy fight we are in, but we are enlisted and committed. A few committed people can change things, and with an army of 700 or more praying and loving, we believe America is going to see an unmatched victory. Are you enlisted yet?
