Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May the Peace, Strength, and Wisdom of our Lord be with you and yours this day and all days………
We are here for GODS GLORY ALONE!
Please continue to pray for Grace Cordova’s family in the passing of her Aunt Tia. Frank Haley let me know that Gary Diamond passed away yesterday. Please cover the family in your prayers. Gary had many friends in Radio here in the Duke City.
Do you have a hunger for the Lord?
I pray you do……..
As Long as Uzziah sought the LORD, God made him prosper 2 Chronicles 26:5
Now as our Sunday School Teacher Wanell said yesterday, take Uzziah’s name out and insert your own………
As long as Dewey sought the LORD, God made him prosper
Now as Wanell stated, prosper in this scripture means prospering in a Life in Christ, Following God’s Will, not ours. Not turning to the left or the right, going straight on a path put before us by our Lord. Having a personal relationship with our Lord.
Get off track, and your toast!
Today Sharon and I celebrate our Wedding Anniversary! PRAISE GOD, the only thing is she keeps getting these sympathy cards in the mail!!! LOL! LOL! We celebrated Saturday night by going to Vernon’s Steakhouse, WOW! The best steak we have ever tasted! Thanks to KKIIM’s Bobby Jones for the suggestion!
Thank you to all of you who sent Sharon and I greetings over Christmas and the New Year! Too many to post! God Bless you all, your encouragement is so much appreciated!
Facebook has been good for us to catch up with Family and friends we have not talked to in over 35 years! Like cousin Diane from Storden, Minn and Chico who was a foreign exchange student back in Windom, Minn in the early 70’s…..he runs a half way house south of Mexico City now, we were great friends while he stayed in Windom. We used to clean the gym after ballgames. I praise God for this technology, let’s just be careful how we use it.
I got this email from Frank Pierce after a post we did on the economy………The James 4 Cup…….
I feel/fear you and others you site are indeed correct we will not see the economic recovery that we hear is going to come…
Is this a/my opportunity to change directions and serve???
There certainly are needs in my immediate family with my father (Stroke recovery @ 87)
I certain will not want to look back in a few years and have missed an opportunity…
Also
It feels like the wheels are coming off on everything Godly this county has held of truth/value…
I/all of us always really value your words of encouragement…
I will keep in prayer for all that are far less fortunate than I.
Frank Pierce
Thank you for the note Frank, I have been studying Leadership, God continues to show me the darkness in leaders and the light. I strongly suggest everyone get a John Maxwell leadership Bible, as we are all leaders, in our homes, schools, church’s, places of work.etc…..WE ARE ALL LEADERS!
First look at this link I have included, it is from the Williston, ND/Sidney, Montana area where another oil boom is taking place, when I worked at KGCX in Sidney and Williston in the late 70’s there was one going on…….Why can’t we have this kind of growth here in New Mexico, or something like it? Maybe with our new Gov, Lord Willing we will!

When you look at the past so called leadership in Santa Fe it was corrupt! Plain and simple!
There is hope folks, turn to your Bibles and read Nehemiah! Read, learn how to lead in a Godly way……let us look around, here in Albuquerque we have a Godly mayor, he is doing wonderful, we pray for the same for Gov Martinez. Thursday night on NM news and Views I was Preaching on leadership and reading about Nehemiah, Pastor Larry Moss called me during a break and said keep it up!!!, you are encouraging us all! Well Friends, the words came from the Lord, and can you imagine the encouragement Larry gave me??? He is my mentor WOW! The Body of Christ working together!
Anyhow……..
Let us look for this in Leaders!
Four Characteristics of Those who Complete a task
Commitment comes before anything else in a leaders’s life.(I get told a lot, Dewey you sure are committed, and I think, What is unusual about that?, as we all are to be committed and do our work that the Lord has given us, my dad always taught me to do a job right the first time) Nehemiah had commitment and drew it out of others. (There is where we are lacking as a Country, leaders that can draw the best out of people!!!!!HUGE POINT) The people finished the wall in 52 days, despite many adversities. Their great accomplishment so thrilled Nehemiah that he wrote, “When all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things….they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God” Neh 6:16
Leaders who complete purpose: They make a great commitment to a great cause.
To many so called leaders only have a commitment to themselves!
A clear perspective: They don’t let fear cloud their view of the future.
You have to deal with the bad news and not hide under the covers!
A Continued prayer: They pray about everything and gain God’s favor!
We must pray about everything! I would like to know when the last time a New Mexico Gov had been to Church, before Gov Martinez started off her time as Gov going to Church. I believe it has been at least 16 years or more since New Mexico has had a praying Gov. We need Godly people in these positions.
A courageous persistence: They move ahead despite the odds. Look at what Gov Martinez has already done in just a few days……follow the news here on KKIM/KARS…..we will keep you informed.
She has a great battle on her hands, she will fight the political machine here in New Mexico, we need to keep her in our prayers as she goes forward. God be with her.
There are layers and layers of corruption in this state, and she is the one God picked to peel them away!
The story of leaders like Nehemiah should give us encouragement to carry on and shoot for Godly excellence!
Read Nehemiah today………
Now at the start of this CUP we talked about getting off track and your TOAST! Well, LORD WILLING we will talk about Uzziah, God given success and then his EGO takes over and he is TOAST! EGO stands for Edging God Out! That is what Uzziah did after so much Godly success and we see Christian leaders do that too many times. Let us learn! Now please read in Nehemiah, get started and then read 2 Chronicles 26
I thank Wanell for her excellent Sunday School lessons!
Thank you for stopping by and having a CUP with us, always a Godly pleasure!
You can take part 9:45am Sundays at the Los Lunas Church of God!
Our prayers are with you this day, in the name of Jesus, AMEN!
