Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May we be about our Father’s Business this day and all days……..
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
if one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
Eccl 4:9-10
AMEN!
I had the extreme blessing to tape a 6 min prayer segment for my Dear, Dear friend Pastor Ray Franks at KAZQ CH 32 yesterday. It is for a new program Pastor Ray is doing. It is always a blessing to pray for others and it is always a blessing to work with Pastor Ray. Please pray for his wife Becky who is under extreme pain. We love to pray for others and lift them up to our Father!
In talking with Pastor Mark Tross and Pastor Jim Montoya yesterday, Mark brought up 7 categories we must pray for in our Country!
Education
Military
Government
Media
Church
Families
Economy
We then graded how we as a Country are doing in these 7 categories….sadly we had to many F’s. I would like to hear from you on how you would grade our Country on these 7 important categories and maybe you would like to add some. But please keep this list handy and pray over it each day. The Church is God’s Church, God’s Church will never fail, God never fails, but man’s flesh get’s involved and can mess up God’s Church. Let me know your thoughts please. We need to pay attention to the details, I would have liked to see the President grade these categories last night in his State of the Union Address! Let us be in prayer.
Yesterday in taping our TV program we had the wonderful Pastor Larry Moss with us, he talked last Saturday on the Weekend Edition of NM News and Views about a special event coming to Albuquerque. On Tuesday Feb 15th at 6:30pm at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian the story will be told on screen how Manchester, Kentucky came back to the Lord. This town was full of drug users, crime, corruption, the area had a 200 year history of violence! This is the area Pastor Moss is from. This whole town has come to the Lord. What a Revival! The whole story will be told on this special night at Heights Cumberland, with some of the people from Manchester, Kentucky coming to be with us on this night. Let us learn from them how they turned their community back to the Lord. Pastor Moss asks that we pray for this to happen right here in Albuquerque. One of the ex-number one outlaws of this area will also be appearing and telling his story how he came to the Lord. For more information call Heights Cumberland at 821-1993.
Before we get to our next segment from Chris Tomlin of KKIM/KARS, reporting on the fundraiser for the Moore family yesterday at Sweet Blessings….Chris also shares a piece about President Ronald Reagan……….We are Celebrating Ronald Reagan’s 100th Birthday!
Did you know this?……….
When Reagan graduated from College in 1931 only 7 percent of Americans were in College, while 12 million of them—25 percent were out of work!
Reagan set his sights on radio, which was red hot, he took at job at WOC Radio, (World of Chiropractic, believe it or not that is what those call letters stood for!) WOC Radio was in Davenport, Iowa. He made $100.00 a month! A portion of that was sent home to Dixon where his father was out of work.
Reagan got fired very quickly in his first job because he did not mention a program sponsor! WOW! Extreme measures! I once had a radio Boss who threw a hammer at an announcer for messing up!!!! WOW! Those were the days before “Human Resources!!” LOL LOL!
Here’s the note from Chris………on the fundraiser for the Moore Family yesterday at Sweet Blessings……also see yesterdays CUP for more info on the Moore Family.
Shalom Dewey,
FYI – Bless G-d! Sweet Blessings Café was packed between 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. yesterday! They had to turn away folks at 5:30, there was a long line inside the store. At least one time during the day, the line snaked outside the door and down and around the sidewalk perimeter of the all the storefronts. All the baked goods were gone! Cece and her children, Jacob and Emily, were there greeting and thanking folks, as was the Sweet Blessings staff. We look forward to a report.
“American Minute” writeup about President Reagan and Prayer in Schools, below.

Subject: American Minute – Jan. 25 – Reagan & Prayer in Schools
American Minute with Bill Federer
January 25
In his State of the Union Address, JANUARY 25, 1984, President Reagan
stated:
“Each day your members observe a 200-year-old tradition meant to
signify America is one nation under God.
I must ask: If you can begin your day with a member of the clergy
standing right here leading you in prayer, then why can’t freedom to
acknowledge God be enjoyed again by children in every school room
across this land?”
A month later in a radio address, February 25, 1984, President Reagan
stated:
“The First Amendment of the Constitution was not written to protect
the people from religion; that amendment was written to protect
religion from government tyranny…
But now we’re told our children have no right to pray in school.
Nonsense.
The pendulum has swung too far toward intolerance against genuine
religious freedom.
It is time to redress the balance.”
President Reagan continued:
“Former Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart noted if religious
exercises are held to be impermissible activity in schools, religion
is placed at an artificial and state-created disadvantage…
Refusal to permit religious exercises is seen not as the realization
of state neutrality, but rather as the establishment of a religion of
secularism.”
Thanks for sharing Chris!
Let us check the mailbag……………
Here is a note from Roy……..Roy points out that darkness is removed when we accept Christ. That is exactly what happened in Manchester, Kentucky as a Revival took place. Roy had that darkness and came to the Lord………
Hi Dewey,
Welcome back, glad your trip was safe one. Aletter in the cup touched a forgotten nerve. My heart goes out to the lady dealing with
a drunken husband. It reminded me that many years ago I was that drunken husband, not violent just drunk. Big improvement? NOT!
But in 1980 thanks to a lot of help from the Lord I quit drinking, and haven’t even thought of starting again. She can’t help him till he wants to help himself. Lots of prayers are needed for this lady. Count on mine.
Roy & LeeAnn
Thank you for sharing Roy! It points out again how important the Body of Christ is in being vulnerable to each other and telling our failures and how the Lord turned our life around! I was able to do that yesterday with a young man. That is why I am so thankful for The CUP, KKIM/KARS, Ch 32, media that I am involved in to do the work assigned me by the Lord.
Let us hear from Sam……..
Dearest Dewey, Sharon and Family,
I thank God for you and yours. I pray for all the Prayer Warriors and, that when they pray not only will the ones they are praying for gets blessed, But they as well!
Thank Goodness your trip went well Dewey. Isn’t it great to just be silent and spend time listening and meditating with our Lord? ……. When my Brother-n-law had cancer and was in the ‘City of Hope’ in L.A. I traveled there quite a bit, and on the way I had several ‘Christian Musician Tapes to listen to, and found Every time I got home I felt Refreshed, even tho the circumstances were Not good. Refreshing is much needed, we all have to have it from time to time. And we all get it in different ways. You and Sharon are in my prayers continually Dewey. Keep up the good work you were assigned. Much Love, sam
Thank you for the kind words Sam! We are praying for you and yours!
That is it for now………….may God be with you and yours this day and all days……That is our prayer for you and yours! In the name of Jesus, AMEN!
In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and Family
