Dear KKIM/KARS/SHINE Family,
The speech of a good person cleans the air; the words of the wicked pollute it.
Proverbs 10:32
So much NOTHING NOISE out in the world that has nothing to do about Jesus! AMEN!
How are you this morning?
Who is God to you?
A.W. Tozer, in his classic book on the nature of God, challenged readers with: “What comes to our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”
Who is God to you?
Might seem like a simple question with a simple answer…but dig deep into your heart and soul and write down in a journal or tablet….Who is God to you?
For years now here at the CUP, boy am I getting old!! The CUP now is going on 12 years….it started out, just like this an email to friends then a web site……The Lord just leads the way…..I pray every morning as I get ready to write to you, as for what the Lord may have me say and share. Writing to you is one of the most important things I do all day.
Anyhow, I started to say that we have been talking about putting the armor of God on and reading God’s Word, praying and listening for Him, being obedient to God, being available to God. Not our Will, but His.
I am at my point now with Jesus, that I have flat out just given my whole life for Him. I am here to serve with my all.
I pray every moment to my Jesus, to lead my way, every step of the way..every word that comes from my mouth.
I share with you what happened yesterday at the Car Show at Valley View Christian Church…….
I share this as a testimony and what happens when we make ourselves available to God……he will put all of us in a position to do His works if we will only let go and live for Him……every moment of our day….
I heard the words, “Clearing the way for an Ambulance…..”
I looked around…………walked a bit and then saw a man on the ground………
He had just had a seizure….his clothes were all dusty from having rolled in the dirt.
I walked his way……
he was surrounded by family….friends…….and then EMT’s and Fireman…….
I approached praying for the man……….
I walked up to the scene…….I miss the days when I was a Volunteer Firefighter in Indiana…….serving others is a rush!
This man’s name is Willie I gathered from the conversation….. his family and the Fireman and EMT’s were having no luck convincing him to go to the hospital in the ambulance. He was not going to have anything with an ambulance and hospitals!
The EMT’s were checking him over very good……
The whole time I was praying and the Lord told me to move forward I put my arm’s around Willie’s wife and said I am praying for you and your husband……
The firefighters and EMT’s were not bothered by me coming in to pray with Willie, one loved it that my name was Dewey, that was his name! LOL!
I walked up to Willie and told him, I am praying for you…….and then as I prayed the Lord told me to tell Willie, that he needs to go to the Hospital for care……..
I told Willie what God had told me and Willie quickly responded.”Okay I will go!”
I tell this story, which some may think is simple…….but I tell it because we all who belong to Christ are here to serve our Lord and His people. To be of full service to our Lord we must be tuned into HIM and not our Will or what we have planed for the day.
We must be so tuned in…… we can hear HIM!
On my way to Edgewood yesterday I called Chip Lusko of Calvary of Albuquerque, who had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago……he is doing fine..Anyhow if you remember Chip’s story that we shared on the CUP, he started to have pain and the Lord told him to go directly to the hospital……and Chip did and he survived the heart attack and triple bypass surgery……Chip is so tuned into the Lord that he knew what was going on and did what the Lord directed him to do.
The Lord directs us in the most complicated things in our lives to the smallest…….it all starts with a solid relationship with Him.
Does the Lord direct your every step and every word that comes from your mouth?
You may say, WOW! Dewey that is a huge challenge, yes, unless we have a close personal relationship with Jesus it is and we always have to remember we fight the flesh and satan, we will always have Spiritual warfare.
Are you tuned in to God? You may not be as much as you think!
Today, I call upon all of us here at the CUP to lay down our lives completely for Jesus Christ!
In Andrew Murray’s book, The Inner Life, he writes,Prayer and the Word are inseparably linked together. Power in the use of either depends upon the presence of the other……The Word gives me the guidance for prayer, telling me what God will do for me. It gives me the power to pray, telling me how God would have me come….And it gives me the answer to prayer, as it teaches what God will do for me….Prayer seeks God; the Word reveals God. In prayer we rise to heaven to dwell with God; in the Word God comes to dwell with us.”
WOW! What word’s…..
Let the Word of God speak to you each day my friends, God will speak to you most clearly when you are reading the Bible.
I hear God’s voice all day long just as he was standing right beside me every step of my days……..what a gift…what a gift. Thank you my Lord! Some will think I’m nut’s but that is okay, because I am nuts for my Jesus!
But let me caution you…..This sure does not mean that satan will not fire off missiles at you…in fact the higher your relationship with Jesus Christ, the more attention satan will put on you, that is why we put the armor of God on each day.
I enjoyed my time at Valley View Christian Church yesterday meeting folks and handing out Bibles to those that needed one. What a tremendous outreach again by Valley View Christian Church!
Next road trip for Jesus is set for July 17th at the Lighthouse Church in Chimayo. PRAISE GOD!
I pray all Dad’s had a great Father’s Day..Sharon and the kid’s got me a new glove and spikes! Lord Willing I will be out on the field tonight playing…..we will see how the Lord leads..May not be a full speed but for God’s Glory Alone out their with my buddies!
I love to get greeting cards….the kid’s write such inspiring messages!
By the way thanks to Pastor Robert Lewis and his wife for the wonderful gift. Robert was here for the Cross International radio-a-thon awhile back and had on a lovely cologne…..his wife sell’s Mary Kay……I wanted to buy a bottle and they mailed me a bottle as a gift and Pastor Robert wrote these true words…….as he wrote to me and said, “please accept this fragrance as our gift to you! And then he wrote..”Ecclesiastes 7:1…”A good name is better than fine perfume….:”
AMEN brother Robert! he ended by saying…”now you have both!”
Thank you for the gift and kind word’s Pastor Robert.
Kind words are like honey—–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body Proverbs 16:24
I sure have come to love Pastor Robert……My oh my! this man of God sure can deliver awesome sermons! He can Preach it baby!
Pastor Robert has been sending me some of his written material and it sure has helped me.
That is another reason I will Preach until my dying day that you need mentor’s, you need a Pastor to help you in your walk with Jesus Christ!
We have some unspoken prayer requests……people who would rather not share their name and concern…….let us pray for all those with prayer needs that are keeping much inside themselves.
In the Love of Jesus Christ, Dewey Sharon and Family
