Dear KKIM/KARS family,
Oh my friends thank you for being here at the CUP!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
This CUP is DEEP, DEEP, this CUP was brewed strong……
This may be the most important CUP I have ever written to you as the LORD is calling me HIGHER…..this calling is DEEP inside me……….I share this CUP with you from my heart, soul, and mind…….it is my testimony to you on our great GOD ALIMIGHTY!
The Lord is moving in a POWERFUL way, Keep your eye’s open! Keep your ears open to the Holy Spirit.
A marvelous thing happened yesterday……I used to avoid these word’s like a rattlesnake……..Prophets…..Apostles…….
Many in the Church still are very uneasy about modern day Prophets and Apostles……
I have included in the CUP today an in depth study on Prophets and Apostles. Please don’t skip over it…….I have concluded it is what so much of the Church is missing. We are missing the POWER of GOD!
Pastor Steve Smothermon said on last nights New Mexico News and Views that God may be raising me up as a Prophet……and as many of you know, what Pastor Steve says has a HUGE impact on my life, and thousands of others. I did not know what to say, but I prayed……and listened for the Holy Spirit.
For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Eph 2:10
But it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into heaven of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM. Cor 2:9
From the foundation of the world, God the Father has had a vision of what HE created you to be, and what HE created you to do. God has a vision for you—-a vision of HIS created purpose for your life, your gifts, skills, and strengths—a vision HE had of you before the foundation of the world. HE has plans for you to fulfill the vision HE has for you. HIS vision will fulfill you more than any dream you have of yourself.
That is what is going on in my life now……
I do not share this with you to BOAST in myself…..but to BOAST in the LORD, to share my testimony……..I am being called HIGHER by our LORD……to things that at one time scared me…or I simply I did not believe……….The LORD is doing a great work in me……….and you!
Dr. Jim Feeney has done a study on Apostles and Prophet’s here is a brief part of his commentary and then later on in this CUP I publish his entire stduy. So please drink deep this morning in this CUP, do not let yourself stop….let the LORD take control here and absorb the Holy Spirit as you drink……..
There is nearly universal acceptance of the evangelist, pastor, and teacher as being valid ministries for the church today. But the ministries of apostles and Christian prophets are relegated by many to the first-century church only. But in recent years, many Christians have been reexamining the Scriptures to answer the increasingly heard questions: Are there apostles today? Are there prophets today? Were the ancient bible prophets and bible apostles the only valid ones? Or are there modern day prophets (that is, Christian prophets) and contemporary apostles? Does apostolic and prophetic ministry continue in our day?
The intent of this bible study is to prove biblically that all of what have been called the “fivefold” ministry or “ascension gift” ministries are valid and needed in the Christian Church today. The “perfecting of the saints” intended by the Lord (Ephesians 4:12) will require all five of these ministry gifts given by the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:11).
Please continue to drink this CUP and pray……
One of the things I have learned is what we are to do is a CALLING from the LORD…it has to be a CALLING..it is not something we say WE are going to do or are doing…..We are answering the CALLING that LORD has placed in us. We need to get the flesh out of the way and hear GOD talk to us and move forward in his grace. So many miss the CALL……because we get in the way and do not hear the LORD, we decide what’s best for ourselves.
We also need Men and Women of God around us to help guide us, to pray with us…….I am blessed to have so many Godly Men and Women around me, a strong wife in Sharon………Pastor Larry Moss who is like a Father Pastor to so many Pastor’s here in New Mexico said one day to me, Dewey Moede, “I know you have been called by God to Pastor over KKIM!”
When we are called GREAT THINGS happen for the LORD!
When we do things for ourselves, in the flesh and promote ourselves to higher authority, disaster’s will happen.
God used Moses and Paul to remind is HE transforms “The least of us” to be light in darkness.
Os Guinness said in his book, The Call, Do you have a reason for being, a focused sense of purpose in your life?
Or is your life the product of shifting resolutions and the myriad pulls of forces outside yourself?
Do you want to go beyond success to significance?
Have you come to realize that self-reliance always falls short and that world-denying solutions provide no answer in the end?
Listen to Jesus of Nazareth; answer HIS call………
My friends, believe in GOD’s vision for you, not the devil’s. The devil is attempting to persuade you—-by pointing out your past experiences—-that GOD’s plans are evil, or that GOD doesn’t love you, or that GOD doesn’t believe in you.
So I will go on this day following the LORD and HIS purpose for my life and I will be in constant prayer……constant prayer and listening…..AMEN!

December 22, 2011. You are a brave warrior. I have seldom seen you shrink back from a legitimate fight where righteousness is at stake. Those times you appeared to have shrunk back were actually times when you had sought My wisdom and I said for you to give the fight to Me. You did just that, at the risk of those closest to you as well as those from afar would tend to see you as weak and cowering away. Now you look back and see that you grew stronger by relinquishing the fight to Me. I have promised to fight your fights for you because your enemy is My enemy. To the extent that you have learned this lesson and will yield to Me, I can have confidence of placing you in positions of greater responsibilities in My Kingdom. You are a brave and trusted warrior.
2 Chronicles 14:7-8 (MSG) “Asa said to his people, “While we have the chance and the land is quiet, let’s build a solid defense system, fortifying our cities with walls, towers, gates, and bars. We have this peaceful land because we sought GOD; he has given us rest from all troubles.” So they built and enjoyed prosperity. Asa had an army of 300,000 Judeans, equipped with shields and spears, and another 280,000 Benjaminites who were shield bearers and archers. They were all courageous warriors.” Ras Robinson – Has this ministry blessed you? If so, give a generous: Year End Special Gift. See Emergency Update below. You were feeling the deep pain of disappointing circumstances. There have been times since then when you feared if the promise was true or was it just a strong desire in your heart for coming blessings. You have sometimes seen events go completely in the opposite direction of the promise. But deep in your heart you haven’t given up. There are at this exact time people obeying and circumstances being worked out to bring about My promise. There is a fullness of time when the promise brings about My purpose. Galatians 4:4-7 “But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.” Bev Robinson |
From Max Lucado…..
In Bethlehem, the human being who best understood who God was and what he was doing, is the teenage girl in the smelly stable.
As Mary looks into the face of the baby. Her son. Her Lord. His Majesty—she can’t take her eyes off him. Somehow Mary knows she is holding God.
So this is he. She remembers the words of the angel. “His kingdom will never end.” (Luke 1:33)
He looks like anything but a king. His cry, though strong and healthy, is still the helpless and piercing cry of a baby.
Majesty in the midst of the mundane. Holiness in the filth of sheep manure and sweat. Divinity entering the world on the floor of a stable, through the womb of a teenager and in the presence of a carpenter.
God came near!
And Luke 1:33 says, “His kingdom will never end.”
This is from Karen Rowe! Karen, Lord Willing, will be with me today on NM News and Views at 4:25 to share on Christmas……..
Dewey, just to share … I placed this on my website as a blog just now and thought of DDC readers. Feel free to share this if the good Lord leads you. I hope this is a blessing.
An Atheist Made Me Think … But Not Doubt
I just realized that I didn’t choose Jesus because I feared death, I chose Jesus for who He is.
I didn’t choose life because I feared death, I chose life because there is no other way for me ~ I have always believed. … Yet I believe in Heaven and Hell.
I don’t disobey God (or at least I strive not to) because I fear opposing HIM, but never do I fear God, because I know He loves me.
I would fear separation from God ~ but because He lives with me, I have no fear.
I am afraid of some things and I get scared sometimes, but I do not LET my heart be troubled for long, I trust in God and trust also in Jesus. I just have to remember who Jesus is to me!
I experience God living in my life and I am blessed! There are things that God does that only God can do and I praise Him and thank Him, but never to I run away from the truth to get what I want.
Some times I need to change. Sometimes I fail. Sometimes, my prayer is “forgive me God; I really messed up! Please work good into my mistake.” Then, I go on living my life for Jesus.
I do not worry when I remember that God always has a plan.
I do not question what I do not understand.
I trust God simply put and trusting God works out for me.
Just a thought on my mind today, because some do not feel this way.
Perhaps, you are lonely today or scared or unsure of your faith? Have you forgotten to simply believe, because of the evil that is all over the world?
Good and evil have always existed, but God is Good. I believe in Good and I believe in evil, but I place my faith in good. Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God.
When is the last time you talked to God? Have you made that choice to place your hope and faith in Jesus?
God fills the desires of our heart, when we do not need anything more than to be loved by God. We are blessed to be a blessing. From experiencing God to sharing a blessing, I hope you are blessed today by this.
To be blessed is to experience God’s love, hope, mercy and grace working in your life and a blessing is a gift that is received by us with praise and thanks~giving!
Just realized that I didn’t choose Jesus because I feared death, I chose Jesus for who He is.
Who is Jesus to you?
Love in Christ,
Karen

Are There Modern Day Apostles and New Testament Prophets Today? by Pastor Jim Feeney, Ph.D. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. Curiously, and without biblical support, this fivefold list of ordained ministries from Ephesians 4:11 has been split by the modern church into two lists.
1. Apostles and prophets are the two foundational ministries in the body of Christ. I have great respect for dedicated evangelists, pastors and teachers. I am personally ordained to two of those three ministries — pastor and bible teacher. But the bible singles out prophets and apostles as the two ministries which, anchored to Jesus the Chief Cornerstone, undergird the Lord’s Church. All Christians are entitled to be built on this apostolic and prophetic foundation. And we will see later in this study that these are not just restricted to the early church’s apostles and the Old Testament prophets. They include contemporary, modern day prophets and apostles as well.
2. Who gives these ministries to the Church? These verses above declare that it is God the Father and Jesus the Son of God who give these ministries to the church. Jesus Himself is the premier expression of each of these offices.
It seems that Jesus — the chief apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher — is giving an expression of Himself to the Church in the form of these ministry gifts. For example, in Paul, Peter, and the other apostles we see a partial reflection of the perfect apostleship of Christ. In Agabus (Acts 11:27f; 21:10f) and other Christian prophets we see a partial expression of the perfect prophetic ministry of Jesus. The same could be said for God-given evangelists, pastors and teachers.
Paul declares that the mystery has “now been revealed…to God’s holy apostles and prophets.” These were “now” — that is, contemporary — apostles and prophets in the Church several decades after Christ’s resurrection and ascension to heaven.
Here the apostle Paul gives us additional proofs that apostles and prophets were to continue during the Church Age.
These “two prophets” are the Lord’s “two witnesses” (Rev. 11:3) at the very end of the Church Age during the time of the Antichrist. Again we see Christian prophets long after the time of the early church, in fact at the very end of this age.
As end-time “Babylon” is judged, there is a call to contemporary, modern day, end time “saints and apostles and prophets” to rejoice over this divine judgment. Once again, contemporary apostles and Christian prophets are seen, not only at the beginning of the church age, but (here) at the end.
The answers may shock you. They indicate how far out of balance the contemporary church has grown compared to the original church that Christ established on the earth.
Consider those numbers. The Bible speaks of New Testament apostles, prophets, or teachers a combined total of at least 200 times. Pastors and evangelists are mentioned a combined total of four times!
6. What are the biblical characteristics and ministry of New Testament, Christian prophets?
7. Should we identify and recognize apostles and prophets today? Certainly!
The early church — here, the church at Corinth — found it quite normal to have a prophet or prophets in the church.
Again, it was not unusual, but accepted, that there might be prophets (even plural prophets) in a local church. And the New Testament church recognized other Christian prophets by name:
Why beat around the bush? Jesus tells us to receive someone who is a prophet “in the name of a prophet.” There is no biblical encouragement for identifying certain ones as “evangelists, pastors and teachers” and then identifying true prophets and apostles with correct but controvery-avoiding phrases like: “He has an apostolic [or prophetic] ministry.” As if the Lord has given three nouns (evangelist, pastor, teacher) and two adjectives (apostolic, prophetic)! No! Jesus said to receive a prophet “in the name of a prophet.” It’s time for the Church to shake off the fear of man and return to biblical patterns. |
It’s a common complaint during the holidays: Fly on a crowded plane and come home with a cold or the flu. So, just what’s in the air up there?
Air travelers suffer higher rates of disease infection, research has shown. One study pegged the increased risk for catching a cold as high as 20%. And the holidays are a particularly infectious time of year, with planes packed full of families with all their presents—and all those germs.
Air that is recirculated throughout the cabin is most often blamed. But studies have shown that high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters on most jets today can capture 99.97% of bacterial and virus-carrying particles. That said, when air circulation is shut down, which sometimes happens during long waits on the ground or for short periods when passengers are boarding or exiting, infections can spread like wildfire.
One well-known study in 1979 found that when a plane sat three hours with its engines off and no air circulating, 72% of the 54 people on board got sick within two days. The flu strain they had was traced to one passenger. For that reason, the Federal Aviation Administration issued an advisory in 2003 to airlines saying that passengers should be removed from planes within 30 minutes if there’s no air circulation, but compliance isn’t mandatory.
Much of the danger comes from the mouths, noses and hands of passengers sitting nearby. The hot zone for exposure is generally two seats beside, in front of and behind you, according to a study in July in the journal Emerging Infectious Diseases, published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A number of factors increase the odds of bringing home a souvenir cough and runny nose. For one, the environment at 30,000 feet enables easier spread of disease. Air in airplanes is extremely dry, and viruses tend to thrive in low-humidity conditions. When mucous membranes dry out, they are far less effective at blocking infection. High altitudes can tire the body, and fatigue plays a role in making people more susceptible to catching colds, too.
Also, viruses and bacteria can live for hours on some surfaces—some viral particles have been found to be active up to a day in certain places. Tray tables can be contaminated, and seat-back pockets, which get stuffed with used tissues, soiled napkins and trash, can be particularly skuzzy. It’s also difficult to know what germs are lurking in an airline’s pillows and blankets.
Research has shown how easily disease can spread. Tracing influenza transmission on long-haul flights in 2009 with passengers infected with the H1N1 flu strain, Australian researchers found that 2% passengers had the disease during the flight and 5% came down within a week after landing. Coach-cabin passengers were at a 3.6% increased risk of contracting H1N1 if they sat within two rows of someone who had symptoms in-flight. That increased risk for post-flight disease doubled to 7.7% for passengers seated in a two-seat hot zone.
The epidemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in 2002-03 suggested a wider exposure zone, however. On one flight studied, one passenger spread a particular strain to someone seated seven rows away, while people seated next to the ill passenger didn’t contract the disease.
That said, most people sitting near someone who is ill probably won’t get sick. “When you get aboard an aircraft, most of us don’t have a say on whom we sit next to. But that doesn’t doom you to catching the flu,” said Mark Gendreau of Boston’s Lahey Clinic Medical Center.
In 2005, he was part of a team that published a paper in the Lancet that concluded the perceived risk for travelers was higher than the actual risk, and that’s still the case today, he said.
Even so, here are some basic precautions passengers can take to keep coughs away:
– Hydrate. Drinking water and keeping nasal passages moist with a saline spray can reduce your risk of infection.
– Clean your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. We often infect ourselves, touching mouth, nose or eyes with our own hands that have picked up something. Consider wearing gloves.
– Use a disinfecting wipe to clean off tray tables before using.
– Avoid seat-back pockets. Folks often put their used tissues in there which then become a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses.
– Open your air vent, and aim it so it passes just in front of your face. Filtered airplane air can help direct airborne contagions away from you.
– Change seats if you end up near a cougher, sneezer or someone who looks feverish. That may not be possible on very full flights, but worth a try. One sneeze can produce up to 30,000 droplets that can be propelled as far as six feet. When you sneeze, do so either into a tissue or into the bent elbow and NEVER into your hands.
– Raise concerns with the crew if air circulation is shut off for an extended period.
– Avoid airline pillows and blankets (if you find them).
“If you take the proper precautions, you should do quite well,” said Dr. Gendreau. “In most of us, our immune system does what it was designed to do—protect us from infectious insults.” I’d add to that, “To insure your immune system is strong, take your Vitamin D every day and your Fish Oil capsules, too.”
Thanks Dr. Joe!
