Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May the Peace and Strength of our LORD be with you and yours!
Thank you so much for stopping by for a CUP with us!
Dewey: You may or may not have heard that a Sidney teacher, Sherry Arnold, went for her usual morning run on Sat morn at 6:30 a.m. and has not been seen since. They have been searching for 2 days with over 1000 searchers…her one shoe was found by the truck route by Pepsi plant. We want CNN coverage but have not succeeded yet. She is married with 2 HS age kids. She is 43 yrs old, HS math teacher, parents are Ron & Sharon Whited. Have held prayer services and we won’t quit. Go to Facebook and plug in Help Find Sherry Arnold to get all the details and also on the Sidney Herald website. We have this huge oil boom going on in this area so it is hard not to think the worst but we are trying to hold up. We need your prayers please. Thanks so much. Dorothy Paladichuk
Let us pray on this…….Sidney, Montana where I started in radio back in the late 70’s is in the news for all the wrong reasons……..We have friends there that get the CUP…….They are going through an Oil Boom right now, bring many challenges to this small community……..and now this, the disappearance of a School Teacher……..

43-year-old Sidney teacher Sherry Arnold has been missing since Saturday. Arnold is 5’10” with a slender build, dark hair and brown eyes. Last seen wearing red leggings, nylon tights, black leggings underneath, blue hooded sweatshirt with a strip down the arm and the hood, dark blue or black mittens, and a headband.
Arnold went on a run at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and has not been seen since.
Anyone with information please contact the Sidney Police Department, 406-433-2210.
Please pray over this for the safe return of Sherry. Please pray for the Sidney, Montana and Williston, ND area as they are going through a time where hundreds and hundreds of people are flocking to the area in search of work during this oil boom and tent cities and camps have been set up because there is not enough housing, crime is on the upswing. Let us be in prayer for Sherry, she has been a school Teacher for years in Sidney.
A Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they will never sit in……….Greek proverb………….
Today we continue sharing about Mentor’s and a Godly destiny.
How are you doing planting trees with plenty of shade?
We talked yesterday about a Mentor must have the spirit of adoption…..
Authentic mentoring, mentoring like Jesus, involves selflessness. It says , “I’m going to give to you…….put you before me……let you learn from my mistakes, and get nothing in return.
A mentor must have been there……..I will say that being a Mentor, you get to see young people flourish, learning from your mistakes!
Last night on NM News and Views Pastor Leonard Navarre and myself talked about yesterday’s posting of the CUP on Mentorship.
One of the key’s is for us to be humble……..to admit our mistakes……to be honest as the day is long when dealing with people that we
are mentoring. The relationship with the mentor must not be a “Fake Love”. The Mentor must be able to help you save yourself from yourself!
The relationship must be pure with love…..honesty………straightforwardness……..
Many problems in our Society would go away if we had more Godly mentoring going on.
The Mentor must say, “I’ve paid the price to learn what I’ve learned. I’m going to give you the benefit of that price so you won’t have to pay it.”
Sounds a little like Jesus deal for us, doesn’t it?
We must be clear here………and Regi Campbell does just that in the book, Mentor Like Jesus….(Thanks Pastor Leonard for the book!!!!)
Our Mentor’s must not be from the World, but from God………
Campbell says it this way………
Deciding to mentor isn’t a decision that’s just between me and the person or group that I am going to mentor that’s a world of twos………..It’s me, the younger person and God.
God is the third party in every transaction……every situation……every decision.
Our relationship with God isn’t simple and straightforward as just being between Him and me or you. He’s always using a third party—-our wives, our kids, our Pastor, our boss. He’s always connecting us with people for His purposes.
It’s always “You and me, God.” It’s always, “Jesus, what would You have me do?”
It’s always three, not two.
Jesus loves the heart of a servant. He loves selflessness. He loves for us to do what He did. He’ll answer you if you’ll consult Him about what He’d have you do.
John Piper in his book, Don’t waste your life…..gives us this perspective………..
I will tell you what tragedy is. I will show you how to waste your life. Consider a story in the Feb. 1998 edition of the Readers Digest, which tells about a couple who “took early retirement from their jobs in the Northeast when he was 59 and she was 51. Now they live in Punta Gorda, Florida, where they cruise on their 30 foot trawler, play softball, and collect shells.” At first, when I read it I thought it might be a joke. A spoof on the American dream. But it wasn’t. Tragically, this was the dream. Come to the end of your life
