Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May you grow in JESUS today!
Thank you so much for stopping by for your CUP this day of the LORD!
May you realize the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT!
O Lord…..you changed my mourning into dancing….Forever will I give you thanks.
Psalm 30: 11-13
Sandy Harrington shared this verse yesterday with me……Psalm 97:10
You who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the land of the wicked. AMEN!
We have a new friend that is joining us for a CUP these days…….
Frank Haley turned me onto you. That was a great ensemble of Holy Spirit inspired insights. Thank you..Steve
Let us pray for Steve and welcome him to the CUP!
If you have someone that would enjoy having a CUP with us daily, let us know! For God’s Glory Alone, as we say here at the Radio Ranch!
Yesterday myself, Gretchen and Lars got in the car and went to Portales, NM to visit Eastern New Mexico University. Gretchen is planning right now to enter Wildlife management. I jumped at the chance to be with the kids in the car for 7 hours!!!! I do not get enough time with these two. Gretchen is 25 years old next month, Lars will be 22 in March.
I bring this up to share our love for our Children…. surround them with love. Yesterday at the School with all the kid’s registering, I was the only Parent in sight. Now I share that not to say I WAS THE ONE, but that I see this happening more and more where kid’s are left alone…. yes, I know that Gretchen is 25……but at the same time Dad can look and see and hear things from an old man’s perspective.
I am thankful that I have kid’s that still welcome their Dad along on trips like this!
I let Gretchen do her thing and was there like Lars was for support.
Sharon had to work.
The main thing here is that the Holy Spirit told me to go along.
Sadly for me, there will be a day when I no longer can go along…………
So I try to grab these moments in love and drink them up!
The total car time was about 7 hours yesterday…….I caught myself saying to Gretchen and Lars things my Mom and Dad would say…..I would catch myself and say to them, You know when time is really passing when you start repeating things your Mom and Dad would say to you and now you are saying them to your Adult Children. They laughed.
Gretchen and Lars keep sharing with me that they wish their friends had Parents that were involved in their friends lives and showed their friends love.
Here at the CUP we share the love of JESUS CHRIST, and I encourage you to take time with your kids and grandchildren………I remember how my Dad and Mom would love on my Sister Deb’s kid’s……..I see how Pastor Jim Montoya and Pastor Leonard Navarre love on their grandchildren……..I see many children from single Parent homes….or no active Parents at all….love on them……..share the Love of JESUS CHRIST with them….Where do you find such Children?…….In your own neighborhood, bagging groceries at the local store..waiting on you at the local coffee shop…etc……..
One of the things I enjoy about going into new places is sharing the Love of JESUS CHRIST! So many people are starving for love. Someone just to care and they are in are own neighborhoods……we don’t have to travel far.
So this just ties in with the CUP yesterday…….The Church is not to be fenced, but a force to be unleashed! Love that…..
By the way this goes the other way also..if you have Parents you have not visited……May I encourage you to do so…..I heard from a friend the other day that an elderly lady had not had a visit from her son in 4 years and he is within a 5 hour drive! So sad……….
When you share the LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST, you will find that it is better than any Government plan, better than any stimulus plan……better than any Politicians plan to turn this country around! When we keep families surrounded in the LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST we make a better World!
JESUS CHRIST is the one and only!
So when the Church is not fenced in and is unleashed, WATCH OUT!
WE can turn this World Around for JESUS CHRIST!
ONWARD CHRISITIAN SOLDIERS!
The LORD showed me yesterday we have to stop talking so much about the World coming to an end……We have to be the Salt and Light and carry out the Great Commission, sharing the Love of JESUS CHRIST, Don’t be so focused on the World coming to an end, and the LORD returning, as the LORD only knows the time……but we are told to Occupy until HIS return, so let us do that…….and be ACTIVE!
I get a kick out of when I am asked, like I was yesterday by Lars, Dad, what do you think about Occupy Wall Street? I go back to the CUP yesterday and say that we the Body of Christ need to occupy in the LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST! We need to get out of the fence and be unleashed!
ONWARD CHRISITIAN SOLDIERS! In the love of JESUS CHRIST!
The LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST will turn this World around!
Oh my friends we make it so complicated, where JESUS made it so simple……..
I was just about to send this CUP when it hit me so hard from the Holy Spirit who is right here with me this morning as always as I type this….This CUP is in Remembrance of My Dad and Mom, Grandpa and Grandma Caraway, Grandma Moede, (Grandpa Moede passed on when my Dad was just 13) Uncle Joe Moede, Uncle Charlie Caraway…….who shared such love with me…….a deep love in JESUS CHRIST that I carry with me this day……A love that covers me more than ever as they share it with me from Heaven! All my family!!! Thank you LORD for such an inheritance!!!!
ps….My thanks to Pastor Leonard and Justin for filling in for me at the last minute so I could go yesterday! Love you guys much!
I am so thankful to our LORD for Leonard and Justin for their love of JESUS CHRIST and how they spread it all over!
Ray of Mining The Truth on KKIM, weekday mornings at 7:35am, now shares more on the Love of our LORD!
God’s love language
Gary Chapman has popularized the concept of love language. In his theory there are 5 ways that people express love. They are; words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service and physical touch. The concept seems to be a good one in that it helps people recognize how others express their love to us. In other words if I express my love through showing quality time, then I will have a tendency to only recognize love from someone else when they show me quality time. But if their means of expressing love is physical touch, I will have a tendency to not believe they love me because they are touching me physically but aren’t giving me the quality time that I demand. By recognizing someone else’s love language, I can recognize that they love me even though they are not expressing it the way that I would. If we take this concept into our relationship with God, we can get some clarity on one of the biggest struggles we have on a daily basis. Our love language as earth-bound, physical beings is to demand of God that He fix our circumstances or He doesn’t love us. God’s love language is completely different than that. If He allowed us to determine His love by fixing all of our circumstances then His love would be subject to satan’s attacks and our bad choices and it would completely eliminate our ability to respond to Him in faith and love. In other words all satan has to do is attack us through another person or illness or any other way that he comes after us and now it proves that God doesn’t love us. Game over.
That is why God doesn’t allow us to judge His love based on our circumstances. His love has a much higher standard than that. Paul tells us in Romans how God demonstrates love.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
While you and I were at our absolute worst, God demonstrates love beyond our comprehension in that He was willing to die for us when we were the worst we could possibly be. There can be no greater demonstration of love than to die for someone much less doing it at a time when they are absolutely rejecting them and acting out in the worst possible way to show how much they loath them. That is God’s love language. When we learn to rely on it with confidence, it will allow us to soar above our circumstances and the lies satan is whispering in our ears.
Thank you Ray! You have such a gift!

Just Believe
It was small enough to overlook. Only two words. I know I’d read that passage a hundred times. But I’d never seen it.
But I won’t miss it again. It’s highlighted in yellow and underlined in red. You might want to do the same. Look in Mark, chapter 16. Get your pencil ready and enjoy this jewel in the seventh verse (here it comes). The verse reads like this: “But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee.
Did you see it? Read it again. (This time I italicized the words.)
“But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee.”
Now tell me if that’s not a hidden treasure.
If I might paraphrase the words, “Don’t stay here, go tell the disciples,” a pause, then a smile, “and especially tell Peter, that he is going before you to Galilee.”
What a line. It’s as if all of heaven had watched Peter fall—and it’s as if all of heaven wanted to help him back up again. “Be sure and tell Peter that he’s not left out. Tell him that one failure doesn’t make a flop.”
Whew!
No wonder they call it the gospel of the second chance.
Those who know these types of things say that the Gospel of Mark is really the transcribed notes and dictated thoughts of Peter. If this is true, then it was Peter himself who included these two words! And if these really are his words, I can’t help but imagine that the old fisherman had to brush away a tear and swallow a lump when he got to this point in the story.
It’s not every day that you get a second chance. Peter must have known that. The next time he saw Jesus, he got so excited that he barely got his britches on before he jumped into the cold water of the Sea of Galilee. It was also enough, so they say, to cause this backwoods Galilean to carry the gospel of the second chance all the way to Rome where they killed him. If you’ve ever wondered what would cause a man to be willing to be crucified upside down, maybe now you know.
It’s not every day that you find someone who will give you a second chance—much less someone who will give you a second chance every day.
But in Jesus, Peter found both.
We had the sad news on KKIM/KARS on Tuesday about Pastor Chuck Smith announcing he has cancer. Victor also wanted to pass along this information…..
Tonight at church it was announced that Pastor Chuck Smith, founder of Calvary Chapel and pastor of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He will undergo surgery next week. Tomorrow night (Thursday) Greg Laurie will be interviewing Pastor Chuck about this and other issues. The interview will be carried on KNKT 107.1 at 8pm.
Let us pray for Pastor Chuck!

January 5, 2012. My servant David was a man of prayer. So much so, that he tells of rising early in the morning to speak with Me so that He could order His day accordingly. For eleven years this Friday, January 6, we have written daily “What the Lord Is Saying Today.” My joy was to rise daily at 4:00 a.m. and seek God for His word. That word was delivered worldwide to almost 24,000 subscribers in over 50 nations by 6:00 a.m. daily whether in America, Canada, Peru, Mexico, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines or any number of other nations . For a brief time, we published a Spanish translation as well. Rejoice in the Lord with us on our 11th anniversary. I will pray for YOU daily before 6:00 a.m. Please pray for us.

This is a time when you need to be paying special attention. In times past you didn’t want to be too directly involved. Things were talked about that didn’t hold your attention. But now is the time to listen and watch the way things are conducted. You will be called upon to step in and give leadership. You aren’t a natural leader, except when you have to be. But when you must lead you rise to the occasion. Do not worry about this now, because this is a time to learn. A time is coming in the near future when you will be called upon to lead. I am teaching you. Here’s our Medical Bag for the day…….
In a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Professor George Bray, of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center of Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge documented that people who eat a low protein diet tend to gain more fat and decrease their lean body mass.
In other words, they shrank their muscles, but gained fat. And as body composition changes, it can fool the BMI (Body Mass Index) charts into classifying you as being less fat than you really are.
The investigation studied 25 young adults over a period of three months, who lived and ate under strict supervision in a university metabolic unit. Their meals were carefully prepared by staff and were closely monitored to be sure they ate everything that was prepared for them.
They were divided into three groups: low protein (defined as only 5% of total calorie consumption), “normal” protein and high protein dietary intake groups, with the same number of total calories. They were also given 1000 extra calories a day.
What they found was that all groups gained weight, but less overall weight in those on a low protein diet. But, that group also lost lean body mass, so they were actually FATTER than the members of other groups; they got fatter as a percentage of their body weight.
Those in the high protein group also gained some weight, but they preserved lean body mass AND raised their metabolic rate. Everyone gained some weight, because they were all eating extra calories. But the results demonstrated that those who ate protein maintained their muscle mass and that made a lot of difference in their body composition.
It all starts with the fact that FAT LOSS is the only truly beneficial form of weight loss. In standard low fat, low protein, calorie restricted diets, at least HALF of your weight loss is…MUSCLE! And, to experience rapid fat loss, you need every bit of muscle. You can’t afford to lose any of it. That’s where the protein comes in.
Protein does important things for your metabolism; it KILLS your appetite. Most diets fail because of uncontrolled HUNGER. The desire for food just overwhelms your resolve and the next thing you know, you’re piggin’ out like there’s no tomorrow. So this effect is HUGE and a major advantage when you’re trying to trim the lard.
Protein stimulates the release of glucagon, a hormone that is the opposite of insulin – it RAISES your blood sugar, but also mobilizes fat deposits, so they can be used as fuel, inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates to fat and increases your metabolism. It also inhibits the use of muscle tissue as fuel, so it preserves your muscles (i.e., lean body mass), which require ever more energy to function and therefore utilize your fat deposits at a much higher rate. The more muscle you have, the more weight you lose, because the muscles burn fat. It’s as simple as that.
These findings reinforce what is already known about the metabolic effect of different food groups. Calories still count, but WHAT you eat, and HOW you eat and WHEN you eat are all factors that make a tremendous difference in how much and how fast you can burn fat.
This recent study is just more evidence that these principles WORK. If you’re tired of programs that are all hype, or rely on artificial, prepackaged foods that literally starve you (and melt away muscle, as well as fat), you will find eating real food a refreshing change.
It’s really simple: a protein at breakfast, a protein snack about two hours after breakfast such as an ounce or two of walnuts and a cheese stick. Lunch: a protein and all the fresh veggies you want. Snack: same as before about two hours after lunch. Supper: a protein and all the fresh veggies you want. Snack: a protein smoothie about two hours before bedtime. Monitor your weight on accurate scales first thing in the morning and before bedtime. Keep a food journal. Drink filtered water. Exercise at least three times a week for about thirty minutes each time. Try to get seven to eight hours of sleep and a daily nap if possible. Avoid sugars and artificial sweeteners as much as possible. Avoid acidic coffee as much as possible. Avoid sodas and diet drinks at all costs. And have the constant attitude that you want to keep your body as fit as possible as to glorify the Lord with your temple, the body.
Thank you Dr. Joe!
