March 11, 2012. Let your speech be clear, direct and to the point. Try to avoid speaking out of both sides of your mouth. Don’t leave people wondering what you mean. Your answers should be decisive whether positive or negative. With such speech, you avoid confusion and make simple the road ahead. Be simple in your thoughts and speech. So it is with the wise whose advice and counsel you often seek. Learn from them. Your best source for wisdom is My word. Eat it daily like a honeycomb, sweet and powerful. Let you words reflect your Maker. Allow them to be like gold in settings of silver. Then people will seek you out. I love you My child.

One of my favorite scriptures………
Kind Words are like honey—–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body Proverbs 16:24 also see Deuteronomy 3:28 Proverbs 15:23 and Ephesians 4:29
I have been an underdog for much of my life, from the time I wore a brace on my leg at 4 1/2 years of age…….one leg shorter than the other……..being told I probably would not walk or run like other kid’s……..to having pneumonia 8 times when I was a child and then developing asthma, which I later out grew. All this put me behind the other kid’s in school work and sports. I worked hard on my paper route, if fact for awhile I had two routes. I also mowed lawns in the spring and summer and shoveled snow in the winter and also worked at the school cleaning School buses and Custodian at the School. It was about 11 years ago when Sharon and I were awarded at trip by the company I was working for to Jamaica. All expenses paid!!! I had been to Canada, but that’s it as far as leaving the United States! I needed a passport, thus my birth certificate. I called the Windom Hospital to see if they had a copy and Praise God a classmate of the class of 1974 answered the phone Janel Bartosch now Janel Eichstadt. Janel now lives on a farm near Jeffers, Minn but still works at the Windom, Hospital. Janel told me on the phone 11 years ago that she has been following my career in radio through the Windom Paper. (I just love my hometown and the local paper!) She said, “You know Dewey you and I were never picked to succeed in life by our classmates, we were underdogs, I am so proud of you and all that you have dome in radio and what you have dome in life.” Janel brought me to tears. I have remembered her words since then. It has helped me become a better husband, Father, and Pastor. Janel has been very successful in her life, the last 22 years at the Windom Hospital! What I know is that Janel encouraged me so much that day and people are thirsty for encouragement! We must encourage each other, more than ever in these days! I am 56 years old and the Lord has given me more energy than ever! Part of that energy is to encourage people in the Lord in all his promises. Underdogs, no, just in the eye’s of man. With the Lord all things are possible. Sharon and I are finding in our travels that people need a hug, need prayer, need to be anointed in oil, need to know that someone cares about them. We must have the heart of Jesus Christ in all we do no matter how tough it gets. Yesterday I called Janel to remind her of those words she spoke to me 11 years ago. We had a wonderful conversation and I was able to put her in touch with another classmate, Jim Hofflander. In fact Jim is the one who found Janel’s phone number for me. Janel told me that she had been really thinking of my Dad Wally, who was Transportation Director at the Windom School’s for years and was known as God’s Shepherd of Children in Windom. Dad passed away 20 years ago this Easter, the week he retired of a heart attack. She said Dad had been on her heart and mind so much the last 3 weeks And then I call! She said Dad always had his WINGS (arms) opened for all. The Lord has put much on my heart this morning in writing this CUP, most of you don’t know Janel, didn’t know my Dad, but it is a story of Underdogs, Love, Community, encouragement, strong ties to a Community, with morals and values that stick with us to this day. It is something that I am so thankful for that I want everyone to have. I want everyone to have an encourager.
Now many of you know that I am a Baseball fan! This next article is about a Baseball player, but even if you do not like baseball this is a great underdog story…Do Not give Up!
Tom Powers: Minnesota Twins prospect Chris Colabello is hope personified
Pioneer Press

Updated: 03/11/2012 12:13:07 AM CST
FORT MYERS, Fla. – He is the unlikeliest of prospects. At 28, he’s never been employed by any team affiliated with major league baseball. Instead, he is a refugee of the independent Can-Am League.
He received no signing bonus, not even a few bucks for a new glove. He’s been promised nothing. And he is surrounded by bonus babies and fresh-faced youngsters with their futures all nicely laid out in front of them.
Yet no one is happier to be in the Twins’ minor league camp than Chris Colabello.
“Through all the tribulations in independent ball, I always believed there would come a point where somebody would give me an opportunity,” he said. “I’m so thankful to the Minnesota Twins because I know how hard it is to sign a 28-year old free agent who really has never had an opportunity to play with an affiliated team. I’m so grateful to be here.”
Colabello could be the poster child for spring training because he is hope personified. In fact, he is a minor miracle, a fixture at first base for the Worcester (Mass.) Tornadoes for seven years who finally is getting a chance. It’s as if he outlasted major league baseball, which clearly didn’t want any part of him. But he refused to go away.
Thursday morning, he ran onto the field with dozens of other minor leaguers for his first official workout as a member of the Minnesota Twins organization. And when Tom Kelly came over to give him a few pointers at first base, Colabello appeared happy beyond belief.
“I’ll tell
you what, anybody that takes time to come talk to me and try to help me, I truly appreciate it,” Colabello said. “I mean that from the bottom of my heart. It just means the world to me.”
Jim Rantz, the Twins farm director, points to the stat sheet.
“Look at the numbers he put up,” Rantz said. “We have some slots to fill.”
That finally may answer the philosophical question: If a tree falls in an independent league and everybody hears it, does anybody care?
Colabello’s story is unusual. His dad was a star player in Italy for eight years, even pitching for the Italian national team at the 1984 Olympics. He also managed there, so Chris spent several of his formative years overseas. Chris went on to play first base for Assumption College in his native Massachusetts, which was close to his home in nearby Framingham. His goal always was to play pro ball, but he was undrafted upon his graduation.
The Tigers gave him a quick look but passed. Colabello figured there would be other teams at least willing to take a peek. But year after year passed with no takers. Colabello appeared to have two options. He could play in Italy, where his father’s name still carries plenty of weight. Or he could move on from baseball.
He chose neither. Receiving encouragement from Worcester manager Rich Gedman, a former Red Sox catcher, Colabello kept grinding along, working various baseball clinics in the offseason to make ends meet.
“There were people that said to me: ‘How long are you going to do this? How old are you going to be?’ ” he recalled. “But there were good people in my life, Rich being one of them, who told me I was capable. ‘Keep playing until somebody rips the uniform off your back. Because as long as you have a uniform on, someone might see you.’ ”
The Twins, looking to fill a couple of holes in their minor league system, finally did see him. Colabello hit .348 with 20 home runs for Worcester last season. In seven Can-Am seasons, he has hit above .300 every time. So the Twins worked him out in front of one of their scouts, then signed him and brought him to minor league camp.
Now, let’s not get crazy here. Colabello isn’t going to be groomed to take over for Justin Morneau. But he has a chance to catch on with one of the minor league teams, probably Double-A New Britain, and hold down a job until someone else, someone moving up the ladder, comes along.
“My agent…It’s hard to call him my agent, he’s more of a friend that helps me out, sent a bunch of stuff out for me, and he told me he heard back from the Twins,” Colabello said. “I was obviously very excited. But it’s hard because I have been so close so many times before. So it was hard to get really amped up at first.
“Over the course of the next few days things progressed. When I got the call it was huge, but it wasn’t like, ‘Yes, I made it.’ It was more that I was able to take a deep breath and say, ‘Thank God.’ ”
Colabello holds no bitterness for the long wait.
“I’ve heard it all, I guess,” he said. “It was either that I didn’t run well enough, I didn’t hit for enough power or that I only played first base,” he said. “When they told me I didn’t have enough power, I showed them that I had power. When they told me I couldn’t run well, I ran well with all the guys my size. When they told me I couldn’t play somewhere else, I moved to third and to left field.
“Every negative word I heard over my career ended up being a positive for me,” he said. “I used it as fuel for the fire. And understanding how to handle failure is such a big component for me. At the end of the day, taking the road I have has made me who I am.”
Rantz was serious when he said Colabello has a chance to play in New Britain. But he does have to prove himself in camp or else he won’t be around long. If he makes good, he will end up earning about $1,600 a month, which is less than he was making with the Worcester Tornadoes.
“It was never about money for me,” he said. “I put myself in a situation in the offseason where I’ve kind of been able to make some money and save it up for the season. The money is just an afterthought.”
There is no sense of entitlement here. There is no grousing about the hand he was dealt. Instead, there’s just a sense of anticipation. And maybe the relief of knowing it hasn’t all been for nothing.
“I’ve always believed something good could happen if I kept going about my business the right way, working hard, playing hard and being a good person,” he said. “I guess I just didn’t listen to those people who said I couldn’t do it.
“I think every day of my life has been spent trying to get to the big leagues. What I can control is going out and being the best me that I can. Whatever the Minnesota Twins choose to do with me I totally understand. I just look forward to the opportunity to play every day. I know that a day on a baseball field is better than a day anywhere else.”
Colabello smiled and added:
“Would I someday love to end up playing at Target Field? Absolutely.”
The chances seem almost beyond remote. But he’s proved he can’t be counted out.

Psalm 109: 1-4 Old testament Prophecy
O true God my every praise, do not keep silent!
My enemies have opened their wicked, deceit-filled mouths and blown their foul breath on me.
They have slandered me with their twisted tongues
And unleashed loathsome words that swirl around me.
Though I have done nothing, they attack me.
Though I offer them love and keep them in my prayers, they accuse me.
Fulfilled in Jesus Luke 23:34
Jesus: Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing.
Let us be in prayer……..
Now let is further look at the Importance of the Old and New…….with Pastor Bill Ruhl……..
Old and New
Proverbs 25:2 states, “It is the Glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings to search a matter out.” Science became, in its purest form, the revealing of what God had concealed and was intended to bring praise to the Creator as each discovery was brought to light; the natural proclaiming the supernatural. God designed Scripture to conceal and reveal as well. The old theological declaration is, “The New (Christ, Kingdom, the Church, Salvation, Freedom, Sonship) is in the Old concealed. The Old (Foundations, Statutes, Life Direction and Behavior, Promise, the Law) is in the New revealed.” “This is that” would be another way of putting it, as did Peter at Pentecost. The Old and the New can operate apart from each other, but they are incomplete and will not operate at their greatest capacity.
Many today and in the past have tried to keep the Old Testament and the New Testament separated from one another, but that makes each incomplete. Christ declared, “I have not come to do away with the Law (OLD), but to fulfill (New) it. When something is fulfilled, the foundational work is not eradicated, on the contrary it becomes the stability for the completed work that is erected upon it. So it is with the Scriptures, the Old and New compliment and embellish one another. They are not a distraction, nor does either overshadow the other. Just as man and woman were created for one another, so the Old and the New were created for one another, and God’s intention was that they become ONE!
Logos,
the written Word of God, and Rhema, that truth made specific to you, together become Pleros, which is perfected or complete. The Old Testament (Foundational) with the Fathers of Faith and the Prophets (Proclaimers) of God becomes completed by the New (Building) with Christ and the Church. The Old declared, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Stand ye in the ways and see, ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls’…” (Jeremiah 6:16 KJV) and “Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.” (Proverbs 22:28 KJV). In the New we are reminded in 2 Peter, “I will be diligent to remind you of these things you have learned, that God commands us to not only remember, but observe.” In the New we are to remember and follow God’s statutes and commands from the Old. Why? Because it is then obvious to others that Christ is in you and you are in Him. Christ becomes manifested in our lives when we combine the remembrance of the Old with the revelation of the New.
There are two competing moves in the post modern Church that are both causing an erosion of the power the Church would attain if it operated according to the whole Word or full counsel of God… that is Old and New together. One moves the Church out of the liberty of Christ back into the legalism of the Old and the other rejects the foundations of our faith and promotes a social gospel (that it deems relevant to this generation), focused on a “hyper-grace” message identified with the New. Both spend more time degrading the other than adhering to “breaking down the walls of division that separate us” and becoming One New Man in Christ.
God rebuked a past generation for not teaching the generation that followed about who He was and who they were as a people of His promise. We have that same accusation being leveled against us today…by the very same God! God who is the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last, the Alpha and the Omega, the Old and the New, the same yesterday, today, and forever and the whole, full, and complete Word of God! Notice in God’s description of who He is, it is “AND” not or.
Sad, but several years ago, during a School of Ministry class called “Old Testament Theology” which was comprised of students who were all born again believers and felt lead to pursue a calling to ministry, we discovered early on that most had little or no concept of the foundational principles (Old Testament) their faith was supposed to be based upon. The post modern Church had produced “New Testament” only believers. My question and discourse with them was, “What do you base your Christianity upon? Apart from the Old there is no New! All the references to “scripture” in the New Testament are to the Old Testament. You can not quote something that has not been already spoken or written. When the writers and speakers in the New Testament quoted the “Scripture”, they were not quoting what had not yet be said, but what was already written and remembered from the Old.” The truth is that most new believers had not read their Bible, but focused on the New, with only an occasional trip back through Psalms and Proverbs. Just as we as a nation don’t know our own history, it is evident that if we as a Church separate the Old and the New Testaments we really don’t know who we are in the Kingdom either.
We are Judeo-Christian, Jew and Gentile, Natural and Wild grafted together. Not Jewish (Old) and not replacement (New), but the Old and the New together as one new man in Christ; that is our heritage. Jesus said it best from the New quoting the Old, “Lo, I come, ( In the scroll (volume) of the Book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God!” He is found from Genesis to Revelation and we are found in Him! It is time to put the Old and the New back together and become the Body of Christ, rightly fit together for the performing of every good work!

We have this AWESOME GODLY story from Darlene in Minnesota!
A little girl went
to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding place in the closet.
She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully. Three
times, even.. The total had to be exactly perfect.. No chance here for mistakes.
Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she
slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall’s Drug Store with
the big red Indian Chief sign above the door.
She waited patiently for
the pharmacist to give her some attention, but he was too busy at this moment.
Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing. She cleared her throat
with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally she took a
quarter from her jar and banged it on the
glass counter. That did it!
‘And what do you want?’ the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of
voice.. I’m talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven’t seen in ages,’ he
said without waiting for a reply to his question.
‘Well, I want to talk
to you about my brother,’ Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. ‘He’s
really, really sick….and I want to buy a miracle.’
‘I beg your pardon?’
said the pharmacist.
‘His name is Andrew and he has something bad
growing inside his head and my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how
much does a miracle cost?’
‘We don’t sell miracles here, little girl.
I’m sorry but I can’t help you,’ the pharmacist said, softening a little.
‘Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn’t enough, I will get
the rest. Just tell me how much it costs.’
The pharmacist’s brother was
a well dressed man. He stooped
down and asked the little girl, ‘What kind of a
miracle does your brother need?’
‘ I don’t know,’ Tess replied with her
eyes welling up. I just know he’s really sick and Mommy says he needs an
operation. But my Daddy can’t pay for it, so I want to use my money..’
‘How much do you have?’ asked the man from Chicago .
‘One dollar
and eleven cents,’ Tess answered barely audible.
‘And it’s all the money
I have, but I can get some more if I need to.’
‘Well, what a
coincidence,’ smiled the man. ‘A dollar and eleven cents—the exact price of a
miracle for little brothers..’
He took her money in one hand and with
the other hand he grasped her mitten and said ‘Take me to where you live. I want
to see your brother and meet your parents. Let’s see if I have the miracle you need’
That well-dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon,
specializing in
neuro-surgery. The operation was completed free of charge and it
wasn’t long until Andrew was home again and doing well.
Mom and Dad were
happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.
‘That surgery,’ her Mom whispered. ‘was a real miracle. I wonder how
much it would have cost?’
Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a
miracle cost….one dollar and eleven cents…plus the faith of a little child.
In our lives, we never know how many miracles we will need.
A miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law.

March 12, 2012. Some say a man’s word is his bond. This is a good standard intended to honor the speaker in the eyes of the hearer. I have a higher standard for the fidelity of words. The word of the Lord is more precious than gold or the finest, purest diamond. It never changes and will endure forever. With it, you run and risk your life. The entire universe is dependent upon My word. I formed it all when I spoke it into existence. Who else has such a track record for the words they speak? I tell you there is none. Doesn’t it make good sense to then line your words up with My word before you speak?

March 12, 2012. I hear and see you saying you want to follow Me with your whole heart. But I also see you reverting back to your old ways. Your complaining sounds like My children in the desert. Most died in their complaining and resistance. Is that really what you want? Joshua and Caleb ignored the giants, instead they saw the bounty and went on ahead. You are not a grasshopper. Immerse yourself into My Word and continue hearing My voice. That is what will make you truly happy, and bring you peace. That is the way it has always been. That is one thing I do not change. My child harken to My voice.
Numbers 13:33,30 (NLT) “We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!” But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!” Bev Robinson – DONATE ONLINE – We are experiencing a sudden shortfall after last Friday night FFR meeting. March 12, 2012. Now is a time for caution. Walk circumspectly in areas you are going to in the near future. Don’t rely upon your own wisdom concerning important decisions that lie ahead. Ask Me for My wisdom and you will receive it. I will make you aware of possible consequences which are before you. Seek out godly counselors and consider all the possible circumstances of your weighty decisions. You have been in similar situations like this before and the outcome has not been pleasant. I have wonderful plans for you. Put your trust in Me. Be still and listen carefully for My voice. I will direct you in the paths of righteousness.
James 1:4-6 (NIV) “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”

FOODS: Organic vs. Natural
What’s the difference? Is there a difference?
When products are labeled with the USDA Organic symbol, here’s what you can expect and trust:
– No toxic synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fumigants
– No chemical fertilizers or sewer sludge used as fertilizer
– No planting of genetically engineered crops or use of cloned animals
– No synthetic hormones or antibiotics
– No artificial preservatives
– No artificial colors or synthetic flavors and sweeteners
– No trans fats
– No irradiation
The definition of natural: according to the USDA, there is no clear definition, nor any enforceable standard within the food industry, though many natural products are marketed as “sustainable” with one or more of the following claims:
– No pesticides or artificial chemicals
– No artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, preservatives, or other additives
– “Family farm” raised
– “Only natural ingredients”
– “Whole ingredients” or “natural” foods
– “GMO free”
But “natural” foods are often grown on farms applying synthetic pesticides, including several posing risks to people and the environment. “Natural” foods are manufactured from crops grown with conventional, energy-intensive fertilizers, and frequently contain one or more products derived from genetically engineered corn or soybeans.
“Natural” foods often do contain one or a few ingredients grown using sustainable agriculture methods, both avoiding applications of dangerous chemicals and protecting soil and water resources, but what about other ingredients with hard to pronounce names buried in the ingredients list?
The world of “natural” foods gets even murkier on farms raising livestock, where claims are made implying that animals are raised in “natural” settings and are not given drugs and high-energy feeds to promote rapid growth. Some brands selling “natural” meat and dairy products do require farmers to not administer low doses of antibiotics to boost animal growth, while others discourage use of added hormones, but these claims are not backed up by meaningful enforcement and penalty provisions.
Only organic requires farmers to develop and follow a detailed farm system plan, and inspects farmers every year to make sure they are following all organic requirements set forth by the USDA. Those that don’t lose their certification and may no longer display the organic seal on their product labels.
