Dear Family of Jesus,
Good Morning all! Thanks for gathering at the CUP!!
We are so thankful that you stopped by! PTL!!
“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” (2 Chronicles 7:13-15)
This from Pastor Brenton Franks………..
Struggling with anger or disappoint with the way others have or are treating you? Here is some great encouragement from Psalm 4:4-5 “4 Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Interlude Offer sacrifices in the right spirit, and trust the Lord.” (NLT)
If you find yourself in the midst of a struggle, run to God and not away from Him. Psalm 18:1-3 “1 I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.” (NLT)
This morning we pray for Chuck Ring who is undergoing back surgery.
Please pray for Crystal Garcia she is having serious health issues.
I repeat this from yesterday………….it is so peaceful and comforting………..
Blessed are the ears that hear the pulses of the Divine whisper, and give no heed to the many whisperings of the world. Thomas a Kempis………oh my how peaceful!
Have you ever had a moment when the Holy Spirit prompted you during prayer to do something that seemed borderline crazy? Have you ever had a moment like Peter did, when God called you to do something that seemed unsafe, crazy? Our responses to these prompting’s will make us or break us! It may seem insane, but if we stay in the boat, we will never walk on water!
When God makes something happen, we can thank Him because we can see it. When God keeps something from happening, we don’t know what He did. But someday God will reveal the invisible answers, and we’ll praise Him for them.
Praying hard starts with listening to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. And if you are faithful in the small things and obey those little prompting’s, then God can use you to do BIG THINGS FOR HIM!!!
If you want to see wild and crazy miracles, obey the prompting’s of the Holy Spirit. Grab your pole, head to the lake. row the boat, cast the line, set the hook, and reel in the coin. As you obey the prompting’s by casting your line, you never know what kind of miracle you’ll catch on the other side!
“Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things you do not know.” Jer 33:3
Last night Sharon and I experienced a miracle, we talked about writing our book with Robin White who is such a blessing! Robin is the co-author of John Taylor’s book, “Make My Life a Bible”. Robin is going to help us write our book, it is underway….It has been the prompting of the Holy Spirit for over 2 years now! This is one of the wild and crazy miracles going on in our life right now!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been dragging my feet on some of the prompting’s of the Holy Spirit. Please forgive me Lord. My pastor, Eddie, says it’s time to get out of the Boat!!!
Shona Neff shares this with us today!
I thought about these verses when you asked what is wrong with people today:
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 2 Peter 3-7
God Bless you Shona!!!!
Darlene Quiring shares this………..I love it when you all share what God has shown you to share with us!!! AMEN!!! That is what the daily CUP is all about!!! Thank you Shona and Darlene!
Sowing and Reaping
If we are going to think Biblically, we must understand the principle of sowing and reaping. Children are good soil to sow into, and when given proper attention and affection, can bring great joy and stimulation to everyone.
A great movie was made some years ago called Lean on Me, and one incident in that context made me understand this principle about sowing and reaping. The principal had positively revolutionized a school by giving extra attention to certain people he felt had great potential, and when the lady on the school board who was always trying to get him out faced the crowd of demonstrating children, trying to explain why they wanted him out, they backed her off until he could speak.
…
What the principal had to say was not as significant as what one of the girls stated to this effect: “Were not going to let him go, because hes the first person whos really cared about us.” That crowd of children also recorded incredible gains in their national tests, and brought calm to a potentially explosive time bomb.
Another set of movies I have watched more times than I care to admit, are the Sister Act group. Once again the story illustrated how danger was tranquilized because of sensitive leadership into an inner city school, and talents were discovered which prevented a school from closing.
NEVER WRONG TO PROMOTE CHILDREN
I stated before, that children are always good soil in which to sow which is why, in many countries, education is compulsory.
The tragedy of the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia was the fact that ignorance was seen as meritorious, and that the less a child knew ensured power to an elitist few. Many of those in power were no more than children themselves. Interestingly enough, there are still governments today who operate under that same principle.
Children need meaningful attention, and with all the advancements made by modern technology, less and less children in third world environments seem to get access to that same privilege. Efforts are being made by diverse companies to reverse that order of things, but governments seem to lack the will and resources to lift up the fallen children among us.
It is always right to promote children, and much fruit comes to those who labor in this valiant endeavor. I have never once sat in confidence with a pastor who stated that he regretted his or her decision to emphasize children in their ministry. We must also always remember that transformed children result in challenged parents.
Now AWESOME words from Dr. Charles Stanley….
The Purification of Our Faith
Read | Hebrews 11:32-40
Although most of us would love to have the heroic trust of the men and women mentioned in Hebrews 11, few of us are willing to go through the process which God uses to develop this kind of dynamic faith. We love reading about the great victories and accomplishments of those who trusted the Lord, but we cringe at the descriptions in verses 36-38. None of us want to go through such horrific situations, but adversity is God’s way of purifying our faith.
Picture the Lord as a master sculptor standing before a block of marble–that slab is you! Picturing the hidden work of art within the rock, He lovingly and carefully chips away at everything that does not fit the masterpiece He’s creating.
Character: One of the first areas the Lord deals with is your character. His goal is to shape you into the image of His Son, and there are some traits and attitudes that must be chipped away in order for Him to accomplish the task. His chisel lays bare roots of sin and selfishness.
Idolatry: When anything or anyone becomes more important to us than the Lord, we have an idol in our lives. To protect us, God sometimes uses adversity to strip away everything we have relied upon so that we’ll cling only to Him.
The chisel hurts–it sometimes feels as if God is taking away everything we hold dear. Unless you understand His goal and believe He’s working for your good, you’ll think He’s cruel. But if you trust Him and yield to His shaping tool of adversity, your faith will be purified and strengthened through affliction.
Our Dear friend Ann Quest shares this very important info with us………..
Intercessor Friends,
Now is the time for all to come to the LOrd and seek His face. I know that I may be redundant to many, but many may not know of the wonderful prayer opportunities that are available. This morning, I read the history of the Great Awakenings in America. God wants us to fall on our faces and worship Him, turn from our sinful habits of leaving Him out of our lives, and ask Him for His mercy. ll Chronicles 14:11 is what I am claiming.
Below is a wonderful listing of the many ways you can participate in praying with others for our nation. I hope you take advantage of at least one of these. It is enormously encouraging to pray with a group of believers who have the same heart at this time in America.
It is also wonderful to be able to join people you have never seen, but who one day may see them face to face in heaven and be able to identify their voice. Just listen for a while and then join in at the prompting of His Spirit.
SO Many Opportunities!

Below please find Part Two of our series: Praying for Our Nation.
Although none of us can do everything, all of us can do SOMETHING to prepare our hearts for this historic event in November. Thank you all for prayerfully considering each choice, below, as well as those posted last weekend, to see which one(s) God would summon YOU to support.

NATIONAL DAY OF REPENTANCE | |||
THE NATIONAL DAY OF REPENTANCE
Beginning at Sundown in each time zone on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, and lasting for 24 hours
The National Day of Repentance is a 24-hour, grassroots gatheirng of believers in Jesus Christ, September 25, 2012, to humble ourselves and to seek God’s help for our nation.
God willing, there will be thousands of events at the grassroots level on this year’s National Day of Repentance, during the 24 hours beginning at sundown in each community on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Seek the Holy Spirit as to an outline of a program for your group or church. You may wish to begin and end with worship, giving plenty of time for silence and soul-searching. It’s not about judgment; we’ve all fallen short of the glory of God. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. During the service you may wish to provide an open microphone for persons to pray spontaneously. Pray for unity in the body of Christ [ John 17: 13-26] around this event which seeks support by many ministries and denominations across the body of Christ. You may also wish to teach on the many Scriptures referring to repentance, many of which are found on this website. You may consider taking time to teach the remarkable, true stories of how repentance was a key factor in God’s Victories through David [Psalm 51], Jehoshaphat, [chapter
20:1-22], Daniel [chapter 9: 1-19], Esther [chapter 4: 1-17], and Nehemiah [chapter 1: 3-11]. There are similar examples in American Christian history starting in 1774 found on this website showing God’s Hand to bless our nation once there was a national call for repentance. You may also wish to focus on Christ and His Dominion and the zeal of the Lord in establishing the increase of His government and His peace for which there will be no end. [ Isaiah 9: 6-7]
This National Day of Repentance is set to coincide with Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. The event taking place on Yom Kippur in no way is meant to preempt or replace what Yom Kippur means for the Jewish people, but is meant to honor the Jewish people’s divinely mandated calendar (Lev 23:1-2), and to honor the holiness and seriousness of that day. It also honors the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. Romans 1:16. The Lord Himself said [Leviticus
23:27-31] that the Day of Atonement would be a “holy convocation”, a day to “afflict” one’s soul, to do no work; a “statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.”
During the 24 hour service we suggest you set aside time for prayer for the Jewish people, who are now under attack. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray also about the place of Yeshua in history: past, present and future. Thank the Living God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that 2 Chronicles 7:14 applies to Israel primarily, but also now for us believers, is a way to heal all nations, including our nation in 2012: ” If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

FAST & PRAY 2012
The National Day of Prayer Task Force is making available an opportunity for each of us to choose one day each month to fast and to pray for our national elections. The information below is posted on their website: www.fastandpray2012.com
FAST & PRAY 2012
Our nation and our families are in crisis and the church holds the key! YOU ARE THE CHURCH! You can make a difference!
What can I do?
Fast and pray one day (or half a day) each month until the elections for righteousness and righteous leaders in our United States of America.
Why fast?
Jesus, the early church, Moses, Esther, Nehemiah, and Daniel all fasted and prayed! We will fast and ask our Father in heaven to provide a continuous and nation-wide canopy of “divine intervention” as we pray for righteousness and righteous leaders in our United States of America. We are NOT endorsing parties or candidates. Only our Lord knows how a person will respond once given great power. We are knocking and asking Him to give us righteous leaders in every point of power in our country!
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)
Please! Don’t miss this opportunity!
How do I respond?
Please fill out the form on the website and commit to fast and pray on a certain date (1-31). If you are unable to fast, that’s ok . . . give a date of month (1-31) you will pray

Twelve is a significant number. It is the number of government and it symbolizes divine accomplishment and governmental perfection. The year 2012 is about the government of God arising. August 8, 2012. Take time to think and ponder. I have created you as a wonder and placed you among the angels as those I love. Many are the stars, planets and constellations in the heavenly universe. Even Jesus shines brighter than the natural sun with the moon reflecting its glory. These are pictures for your meditation on My glory. I am the greatest of lights as the Father of lights. I sent Jesus into the world to initiate among you the light that drives away darkness. Now that He resides in you, this means you have the same glory and light as Jesus. Do not let life and circumstances put a basket or anything else over you to darken your light. Shine bright, full of the light from the Father of lights.
Psalm 8:3-5 (MSG) “I look up at your macro-skies, dark and enormous, your handmade sky-jewelry, Moon and stars mounted in their settings. Then I look at my micro-self and wonder, Why do you bother with us? Why take a second look our way? Yet we’ve so narrowly missed being gods, bright with Eden’s dawn light.” Ras Robinson

August 8, 2012. Satan is bombarding your mind now with thoughts of failure. You don’t know it’s Satan because it feels like your own thoughts. He always wants you thinking this way. If he can keep you thinking this way, he has you stymied in many areas of your life and especially in one specific area that you deal with a lot. You are comparing yourself with others at this time and that is never good. You are My child. I have made you a joint heir with My only begotten Son. I don’t want you to get in that syndrome of feeling like a failure. Why? Because you are a winner!!!
Ephesians 6:16-18 (NKJV) “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints –” Bev Robinson

August 8, 2012. When you have a check in your gut, don’t just blow it off. When you have doubts or gentle nudges within your spirit, pay close attention to what is happening. I have given Holy Spirit authority to keep you in line. Those inner feelings you have are for your protection. Much like ignoring a yield sign on the side of the road, ignoring the sign could have serious repercussions. Holy Spirit gives you checks within your spirit to help you stay on the straight and narrow path. Use your spiritual sideview and rear mirrors constantly and pan the horizon in front of you to see what is around you at all times.
2 Peter 1:19 (NASB) “So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.” Kevin Robinson
Here’s Doctor Joe……………
How to Tell if Someone Is Having a STROKE
According to the American Heart Association, a stroke occurs every 45 seconds. But there’s good news: Even if you or someone you know suffers a stroke, immediate treatment can greatly reduce the damage. For many strokes, treatment with intravenous clot-busting drugs can make a significant difference. The catch? These drugs need to be administered within three hours of the onset of stroke symptoms. And the sooner treatment starts, the better the outcome.
To give someone the best possible chance of recovery, you should familiarize yourself with the warning signs of stroke. Remember that not all strokes are the same. Even if a friend or someone in your family has had a stroke before, a second stroke or a stroke in another family member might not have the same symptoms.
What to do if someone shows signs of having a stroke
It’s common for someone having a stroke to try to downplay the situation because he’s embarrassed and doesn’t want to cause a scene for no reason. Take charge and call for help even if he tries to talk you out of it. Don’t wait to see if his symptoms go away – and call even if his symptoms suddenly disappear. He may be having a transient ischemic attack (TIA), or ministroke, which is itself a warning sign that a full-blown stroke may be on the horizon.
If you notice one or more of the following stroke signs, call 911 right away. Make a note of the exact time when symptoms began; this information can be extremely helpful for the emergency room personnel.
Stroke sign #1: Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg – especially on one side of the body.
You may notice that the stroke victim’s mouth suddenly looks “uneven.” Ask him to smile and see if one side droops. He may have difficulty moving his arm or controlling his fingers. Have him close his eyes and raise both arms to see if one of them drifts downward.
Stroke sign #2: Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
Language problems are among the most common signs of stroke. Someone having a stroke may suddenly begin slurring his speech or have trouble speaking. He may not be able to understand what you’re saying to him. Ask him to repeat a simple sentence back to you, such as “I went to the store today.” If he has difficulty getting the words out, the cause could be a stroke.
Stroke sign #3: Sudden vision trouble in one or both eyes
Vision problems that come on suddenly is another common stroke symptom. What to look for: Someone having a stoke may not be able to see clearly out of one eye, or may have difficulty looking to the right or left. He may complain of blurry or double vision.
Stroke sign #4: Sudden difficulty walking, loss of balance or coordination, dizziness
Walking as if intoxicated, stumbling, or even falling down are all stroke symptoms. Other similar signs to watch for: Walking with legs spread apart or a sudden loss of fine motor ability, such as an inability to write.
Stroke sign #5: Sudden severe headache with no known cause
A headache is not necessarily a stroke symptom. But if a headache strikes unexpectedly or seems unusually intense, it’s reason for concern. If a stiff neck, facial pain, or vomiting accompanies the headache, the cause could be an intracranial hemorrhage, also known as a “red stroke.”
Not all of these warning signs occur with every stroke. Don’t ignore stroke symptoms even if they disappear. And don’t let the person talk you out of calling 911. Tell him you understand that he’s upset, but you’re going to call anyway because you love him. The most precious gift you can give someone who’s having a stroke is immediate treatment.
Thanks Dr. Joe!
