Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May the Holy Spirit be with you and yours more than ever this day!
“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people.” Luke 2:10
Yesterday was such a blessing!! I was able to join other Brothers and Sisters that are in Christian Broadcasting in New Mexico and travel to Son Broadcasting KCHF TV 11 and read Scripture on a Special program. It was great that Annette and Ted and all the folks at Son Broadcasting invited all Christian Radio and TV Managers and On air folks to take part! What a Blessing for all broadcasters to come together as one for Jesus Christ. We read from the book of Matthew. It is always so AWESOME to read the Word of God. Can you imagine the smile on God’s face when Scripture is read? On last nights edition of NM News and Views I then had Birga morning show co-host from 730am KDAZ on with me to talk about the TV event. Birga talked about her love for Christian Broadcasting and the importance of what we do as broadcasters. Research as consistently showed that 40% of those that listen to Christian Radio and watch Christian TV DO NOT have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are not always Preaching to the Choir as many think! It is very important for you to support Christian Media, Financially and most importantly your prayers. Don’t take it for granted that Scripture, the Word of God can be freely read over the airwaves and MERRY CHRISTMAS can be said with all the JOY OF THE LORD on Christian Radio and TV! If we don’t do it. who will?
Last night on New Mexico News and Views we had excellent information on the wind storm that was sweeping across our area. Wind Gusts at the Tram on Sandia Peak reached 88 miles per hour. The roof was severely damaged at Valencia High School in Los Lunas, school had to be dismissed early. Thousands were without power in the Albuquerque area when I went home at 6pm. Mistie our KKIM Traffic reporter got a call from her husband while she was working last night saying all the shingles had blown off their roof! Wind Gusts at the Radio Ranch reached over 50 miles per hour yesterday. At one point PNM was reporting over 5,000 people without power. Many have had their Power turned back on.We had live reports from Ken at the National Weather Service and Justin Johnson reported live from Belen and the effects of the storm in that area. This Wind storm went through California, Nevada, and Utah also. All seems quite here at the Ranch at 3:45am.
Great sermons, like great meals, include meat, sweet & heat: truth, humor & passion. Words by Rick Warren
Our friend Ray who will be starting a Radio program on KKIM in Jan. writes for us today on Spiritual warfare! WOW it is so AWESOME! Ray uses this quote from Saint Irenaeus…..The Spirit of God is man fully alive!………let that soak into your heart, soul, and mind…WOW! ……..please read that again…….are you fully alive in the Spirit of God? I think it’s a wake up call for all of us! Just think what would happen if all of us were fully alive in the Spirit of God!!! WOW, it would be more powerful than dynamite!
Please pray for Lena Connelly’s son Johnny who is having heart problems. Lena is a Dear, Dear friend and long time member of the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas.
Here is an update on Billy Graham
Thank you for your continued prayers for Mr. Graham. Below is an update on his condition.
Posted at Billygraham.org:
The 93-year-old evangelist was admitted Wednesday for evaluation of his lungs, which has now been diagnosed as pneumonia. “He is responding well to antibiotic treatment and is in stable condition,” said the pulmonologist treating Mr. Graham, Mark Hellreich, M.D.
Mr. Graham was encouraged this morning by a visit from his pastor, Dr. Don Wilton of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, S.C., who shared a passage from the book of Ephesians: “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers” (Ephesians 1:15-16).
“Given the outpouring of love and well wishes Mr. Graham has received from people around the world,” said Ross, “the verse seemed to have special meaning to him.”
Mr. Graham heard about the prayers and get well wishes from his daughter, Gigi, who visited yesterday evening, said Ross. The two spent time reading the Bible and praying together. Then, as they turned channels to find a news broadcast, they happened to see a Billy Graham Classic Special on TBN, televising Mr. Graham’s 1973 Crusade in St. Louis.
“It was a blessing to Mr. Graham to realize his preaching still reaches around the world,” said Ross, “and even into hospital rooms like his own.”
Mr. Graham has been greeting hospital staff with interest and engaging them in questions about themselves.
No date has been set for his discharge.

Thank you for your prayers for Mr. Graham and the ministry outreach of BGEA.
Let us continue to pray for Billy.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE
What’s at stake.
The glory of God is man fully alive. —Saint Irenaeus
We are well aware of original sin. But we have not been taught enough about original glory. What God originally had in store for us that He will one day restore. This longing for glory beats in each one of our hearts but the long spiritual war that we are engaged in has caused it to sound more like an echo than the sound of reality. David tells us in this Psalm that we were crowned with glory and majesty and that we are stewards of God on this earth.
Psalm 8:3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
4 What is man that You take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?
5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God,
And You crown him with glory and majesty!
6 You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,There are many things promised to us who fight this war by leaning on Jesus. One of the most alluring of all is His promise of abundant life. Contrast this with satan’s desire to annihilate us.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
God promises us that if we hang in there we will see victory in our lives over satan.
Romans 16: 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.But until we see behind the curtain of the invisible spiritual world we will not see the value and purpose God has placed on each one of us. We are involved in a greater story and struggle than this world seems to reveal. Satan lures us into spiritual sleep with the relentlessness and monotony of this world.
Ephesians 5:13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. 14 For this reason it says,
“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.”
15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,The quality of our eternity is at stake. But not only eternity, the quality of how we live right now in every heartbeat is the potential to experience abundant life. It is ours for the receiving. But even more is at stake than our own life. Everyone we come into contact with is either drawn closer to Christ or pushed further away by how we either embrace or reject the life of Christ waiting to be released in each one of our hearts.
Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
The challenge is to stay engaged spiritually and emotionally without becoming hardened to life and those around us because of the constant assault from satan on our heart. If we don’t believe we are engaged in the battle of the ages and that God has a higher purpose and glory for us than the cruelty of this fallen world, then there is no way we can maintain a tender heart through a season of suffering and assault from our enemy. We have to learn to hear and follow the Spirit’s call in everyday life and stay alert.
Proverbs 4: 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.This is from Max Lucado…….
From One Father to Another
This isn’t the way I planned it, God. Not at all. My child being born in a stable? This isn’t the way I thought it would be. A cave with sheep and donkeys, hay and straw? My wife giving birth with only the stars to hear her pain?
This isn’t at all what I imagined. No, I imagined family. I imagined grandmothers. I imagined neighbors clustered outside the door and friends standing at my side. I imagined the house erupting with the first cry of the infant. Slaps on the back. Loud laughter. Jubilation.
That’s how I thought it would be.
But now…Who will celebrate with us? The sheep? The shepherds?
The stars?
This doesn’t seem right. What kind of husband am I? I provide no midwife to aid my wife. No bed to rest her back. Her pillow is a blanket from my donkey.Did I miss something? Did I, God?
When you sent the angel and spoke of the son being born—this isn’t what I pictured. I envisioned Jerusalem, the temple, the priests, and the people gathered to watch. A pageant perhaps. A parade. A banquet at least. I mean, this is the Messiah!
Or, if not born in Jerusalem, how about Nazareth? Wouldn’t Nazareth have been better? At least there I have my house and my business. Out here, what do I have? A weary mule, a stack of firewood, and a pot of warm water. This is not the way I wanted it to be!… Forgive me for asking but … is this how God enters the world? The coming of the angel, I’ve accepted. The questions people asked about the pregnancy, I can tolerate. The trip to Bethlehem, fine. But why a birth in a stable, God?
Any minute now Mary will give birth. Not to a child, but to the Messiah. Not to an infant, but to God. That’s what the angel said. That’s what Mary believes. And, God, my God, that’s what I want to believe. But surely you can understand; it’s not easy. It seems so … so … so … bizarre.
I’m unaccustomed to such strangeness, God. I’m a carpenter. I make things fit. I square off the edges. I follow the plumb line. I measure twice before I cut once. Surprises are not the friend of a builder. I like to know the plan. I like to see the plan before I begin.
But this time I’m not the builder, am I? This time I’m a tool. A hammer in your grip. A nail between your fingers. A chisel in your hands. This project is yours, not mine.
I guess it’s foolish of me to question you. Forgive my struggling. Trust doesn’t come easy to me, God. But you never said it would be easy, did you?
One final thing, Father. The angel you sent? Any chance you could send another? If not an angel, maybe a person? I don’t know anyone around here and some company would be nice. Maybe the innkeeper or a traveler? Even a shepherd would do.From One Incredible Savior: Celebrating the Majesty of the Manger
Let’s get to today’s Medical Bag…….
A team of Harvard researchers, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, have revealed the results of a study of 120,877 people showing that small changes in lifestyle behaviors such as physical activity, sleep duration, and TV-watching are strongly correlated with long-term weight gain. But the most important factor was diet—and among the report’s most intriguing findings is precisely how much weight gain (or loss) can be attributed to consuming an additional daily serving of a variety of specific foods over a four-year period.
The following 10 foods they found to be especially correlated with long-term changes in weight. The five top foods, in order, promoting weight gain are:
Potato Chips, Potatoes, Sugar-Sweetened Beverages, Unprocessed Red Meat, Processed MeatsThe five top foods, in order, promoting weight loss: Vegetables, Whole Grains, Fruit, Nuts, Yogurt
Thanks Dr. Joe!
