Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May the Peace and Strength of our LORD be with you and yours this day and all days…….
Thank you for stopping by for a CUP!
His Word burns in my heart like a fire……..Jeremiah 20:9 AMEN! AMEN!
Billy Graham said, “When scripture talks about the heart, it’s not talking about that life sustaining muscle. It’s talking about our entire inner being. The heart is the seat of our emotions, the seat of decisive action, and the seat of belief (as well as doubt). The heart symbolizes the center of our moral, spiritual, and intellectual life. it is the seat of our conscience and life.”
Let us pray for Billy Graham……..
Reverend Billy Graham has been admitted to a North Carolina hospital for possible pneumonia, his spokesman said.
Mr Graham, 93, is a Southern Baptist preacher who shot to fame through his radio and TV broadcasts and has counseled a string of US presidents.
He was successfully treated for pneumonia in May.
Doctors at Mission Hospital in Asheville said Mr Graham had been admitted with congestion, a cough and fever, but his condition was stable.
“While no date has been set for discharge, Mr Graham is looking forward to returning home to spend the upcoming Christmas holidays with his family,” a statement from the hospital said.
Mr Graham’s most recent book, Nearing Home, was published last month, however, in recent years, macular degeneration and hearing loss have kept him mostly at home in North Carolina.
Let us keep this GIANT man of GOD in our prayers. I know just where that hospital is having been in Asheville in Sept. for the Time To Revive Revival. I need to add that I still stay in contact with people there in Asheville, especially Kathy and Joe. I have a special place in my heart for Asheville, NC and the people there. They sure did Minister to me, and they still are! I encourage you, if you can to go to Asheville in April for the return trip!
KKIM/KARS Ministry Rep Justin Johnson was Ministering to Rebecca Dowden who does a Ministry program on KKIM as she has suffered a loss……please pray over this letter…….
Thank you so much for the encouraging words, Justin.
I haven’t seen this email until now. My best friend of 26 years lost her husband (my husband best friend) over the weekend. He was in what seemed like perfect health…slim, worked out, watch what he ate, etc. He went for a jog and came back in and died of what we believe was a heart attack. We won’t know until we get the autopsy report in about 10 days. They have two kids – who are like our own – we are all still in shock & grief and have so much we need to help her with in these next few horrible days and hard weeks to come.
Obviously, this next Monday will be a rerun again, but we have to trust that God has a plan in all these things big & small. Please be praying for my precious friend and her children (Malinda).
Thank again, Justin!
Beck
Let us pray…………My Dad died suddenly of a heart attack…….the week he retired……the shock and grief is horrible. Let us pray for the family and friends.
Yesterday on Dewey’s Daily Cup, the Radio version 3:30 Wed on KKIM/KARS, listen on line at www.mykkim.com , we had Elliot Miller the Editor of the Christian Research Journal. That is part of Hank Hanegraaff’s Ministry, The Bible Answer Man, Christian Research Institute. It was a great conversation with Elliot announcing that Hank is coming back to KKIM weeknights at 9pm!!! PRAISE GOD! We are so thankful for the return of this Ministry to New Mexico! The Bible Answer man starts airing this coming Monday at 9pm. Elliot also shared with us the History of CRI, what a great Godly Story! My thanks to my Dear friend, Paul Young of CRI for putting this all together!
At 4:25pm my self, Pastor Leonard Navarre and Pastor Steve Smothermon had a wonderful conversation about free speech for Pastor’s!!! I really am thankful for Pastor’s like Leonard and Steve who speak the truth on everything! What do I mean? They speak out on political issues that affect the Christian way of life! I am thankful that most Pastor’s that I know, if not all are not afraid to do this. We must not sit on the sidelines, we must be the Salt and Light of this World and occupy until the Lord returns…If not us who?
Today I travel to Son Broadcasting to appear on TV this morning with other Radio Ministries….it should be a lot of fun! Please keep us all in your prayers.
At the Close of NM News and Views last night, I did something I have never done on the radio I sang!!! Yes I did!!! and I did not knock us off the air!!! I sang PRAISES TO GOD!!!!
Much of New Mexico has a Winter Storm Watch and we are expecting very HIGH WINDS today…..may gust up to 70 mph!!! Pastor Leonard said people better hang onto their Christmas decorations they will blow all the way to Texas!!! I said let’s call today, Decorate Texas Day!!! LOL! LOL! LOL!
We have been adding some new friends to the CUP over the last few days and one of those just wrote us the most beautiful story……a TRUE story that I call a Christmas Story! The Christmas message is right in this letter……..
I wanted to share something with you . My first 2 children were born with severe hydrocephalus (Water on the brain) and were severely handicapped. My husband and I were 18 years old when Chasity was born and 19 years old when Bruce Jr. was born. It was a very hard time in our young lives but by the grace of God we accepted them as gifts and promised them we would give them the best care and love we possibly could forever. One day as we sat at the Mayo clinic waiting for appointments with my mom and dad along to help us, a woman approached me and asked me if the kids were mine. I replied yes. She then shook her head with pity and said you poor thing you have been struck by lightening twice. What a shame. Being only 20, all I could was hug my kids and cry. My father stood up and walked over to the woman and kindly tapped her shoulder. In a calm voice he told the woman how very wrong she was. He said that God loved me and my husband so much that he twice Blessed us young people with special children that he left in his care because he knew we had so much love, kindness, knowledge and strength to give them all they needed to thrive in our love. That touched my heart to this very day. My dad is in heaven now but I think of his words everyday and it has sustained me for the last 29 years. I thought you being a man of strong faith would appreciate my simple story. God Bless you and your wife and ministry!! Love, Jan and Bruce Koster
Jan and Bruce thank you for sharing this Christmas message! Your message is a POWERFUL one in our LORD! By the way Jan knows by brother Daryl and had many nice things to say about him. I forgot to ask how she know’s Darly but I bet it’s from his day’s working at the Fair Store in Windom, that was a great grocery store..saw dust on the floor of the meat dept.!!!!
Let us know if you have someone that would like to get the CUP by email each day.
KKIM/KARS newsman Frank Haley received this email from Tom Doyle formerly on the staff of Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque. Tom is now with E-3 Ministries. It really show’s us the danger Israel is in……..
Hi Everyone,
Today in the Sinai Desert Egyptian radicals blew up a gas pipeline that brings fuel to Israel. This is the 9th attack on the pipeline this year. The explosions today are no doubt connected to the elections that Egypt holds tomorrow. The bad news is that the Islamic Brotherhood is gaining popularity. Our e3 Egyptian National Team is convinced that the Brotherhood will gain the majority within the government through a series of elections.
2011 has been the year of the Middle East transformation. For Israel, the changes could not have been worse. Terrorist groups are taking over the countries that surround them. With Hezbollah now controlling Lebanon, Syria wanting the Golan Heights back, Hamas oppresively ruling Gaza, and Iran getting close to having nuclear weapons, it most certainly means that a regional war for Israel is now on the horizon.
Egypt has a population over 80 million and is the largest country in the Middle East. Under former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak the relationship was at least civil with Israel. The 1978 Camp David Accords established the Egypt-Israel peace treaty. It was upheld by Mubarak for 3 decades. But those days are over and everything between Egypt and Israel is now up for grabs.
The good news is that the situation in Egypt has led to a “harvest moment” as more people are becoming followers of Jesus than we have seen in decades. Our e3 Egypt team is on track to start 60-80 new churches this year. Their goal was to start 30. Would you please pray for the believers in Egypt? Our son Josh will be leaving to go there tomorrow. The team will be running eyeglass clinics in villages that live under the World Poverty Level of less than $2 a day. They will have the chance to share Christ with many Muslims. They will also lead a worship conference. Both Josh and Sarah are in the midst of raising support to be fulltime with us in 2012. You probably have heard from them! We are excited to have them getting valuable experience.
JoAnn and I leave for Israel tomorrow morning. We will be leading a Bible Tour with Jason Elam our new Israel director. We have a great group going and have lots of surprises for them on the trip. After the team leaves we will be meeting with some of the leaders among the Jewish believing community. They have a special burden to reach lost Jews and especially those who are Orthodox. We share that burden and will be putting together our strategy plans to reach out to them.
We also be meeting with Palestinian believers in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Hebron too. We have a burden for them because of the pressure they endure living among hard line Muslims.
in 2012 we are planning to bring several outreach groups to Israel. Why don’t you join us for one? Medical Clinics, Pastor trainings, Selah Women’s gatherings, and College outreach groups are just a few of the teams headed to the Holy Land in 2012. It’s going to be a great year. e3 will also be hosting a church planting conference in Jerusalem in February that we cannot wait for. Would you please pray for us while we are in Israel setting up the many events and outreaches?
It is an important time to be in Israel as both Jews and Palestinians are in a state of desperation. Palestinians living in Jerusalem were just polled on the possiblilty of a Palestinian State. The majority of them indicated that they would rather be citizens of Israel than Palestinian. Who could blame them? The West Bank could end up like Gaza. That would be a nightmare for Palestinians and especially for the believers.
Thank you for your prayers and generous giving. Without you we would not be able to be on the front lines in the Middle East. And what a time to be there! Souls are hanging in the balance and Jesus is the answer. Jews and Muslims are turning to Christ like never before. Did you know that the top 2 fastest growing Evangelical churches in the world today are in: 1. Iran and 2. Afghanistan? Now that’s some Good News!
Off to bed and then to Israel. We love you, Tom and JoAnn Doyle
(formerly on the staff of Hoffman Town Church, now with E-3 Ministries)
Let us pray over Tom and JoAnn’s letter…..let us pray for Israel…..
Now here’s our Medical bag…..with Dr. Joe……..
The New England Journal of Medicine published a study and an editorial titled “Survival of the Fittest” that said, “… the peak estimated exercise capacity achieved during the test (graded exercise treadmill) was the strongest predictor of the risk of death among patients with cardiovascular disease and among patients without cardiovascular disease.”
The study went on to say, “Greater fitness results in longer survival.” The study said nothing about duration or frequency, it only mentioned performance. The people that lived the longest were not the ones that exercised the most frequently. They were the ones who lasted the longest on the treadmill test.
The key variable that related to life expectancy was fitness, not total time or number of days per week. Those that were able to exercise the hardest lived the longest.
Merry Christmas, in the Love of Jesus Christ, Dewey Sharon and Family
