“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” – Psalm 84:11
Let us pray this morning for,
Anita Montoya who is undergoing cancer surgery this morning in Albuquerque. Let us pray for healing. Anita is the Mother of our Beloved Cowboy Clarence.
Hello my brother. I wanted to ask you to please keep our Pastor Bruno Alfieri in your prayers. I’m sure you have met him. He is 88 years very young. He was in a serious car accident this morning. Seeing the car everyone says there is no way someone could have survived. He is home badly bruised and sore. he has a compression fracture in his lower back but is able to walk, talk, joke, and share God’s Word. Please just lift him up in prayer for quick healing and thank God for the miracle of him walking away from that accident. God bless! Robyn
Let us pray for Sam and the relief of her pain……..
Dearest Dewey, Sharon. Would you and Sharon take a moment and pray for me?
Dewey, I’ve had a very tough few weeks. I was given a different make of Pain pill when I left Kaiser and went on Anthem on April 1st. Well, apparently, the company that made the medicine I took had changed.. my pain has been totally out of control. I finally was granted a ‘Formulary Exception’ from Anthem and am now getting the Brand Name. What a Relief, but it is affecting my energy till I get use to the New meds. Dewey, Please Pray my pain will Not affect my ability to be a good witness to those around me. And that our Lord will grant me Patience with Pain. It is my lot in life. I Praise God for my Lot in Life, I know it is for His Purpose. I Thank Him for His Plan.
Thank You my dear friends. sam
Let us carry Anita and Sam with us this day and all day in our prayers.
Let us carry each other in prayer, each day.
Pastor Bruno prayed healing over me several years ago for my leg to be straightened out……it had not been for years. He prayed and I was healed PRAISE GOD!
I also ask for your prayers as we form a Board of Dir’s, and file for non-profit status as a Ministry here at the CUP and march on as God has directed us. The Lord has shown me much as to where we are to go with the Ministry of the CUP. Last night we formed our Board. I am very thankful for all those willing to serve, 13 or 14 individuals with all different Godly talents. God has put together such a Godly team of people….a team that is moving forward for God’s Glory Alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have learned to follow the Holy Spirit………I have learned to pay attention to people sent to be by God. When we have a close relationship with Jesus Christ wonders happen in our life.
Phil Arnot from Heights Christian has from time to time said,” Dewey, you must read this book…”
I am asked to read a lot of books………I have to be selective……I pray then read………..Phil told me
about the book Extraordinary, The Life You’re Meant To Live……by John Bevere the Author of the
Best seller, The bait of Satan.
I went to Bibles Plus to pick it up yesterday and God spoke to me so strongly through this book…..It was a confirmation of what God has been showing for years!!!!!!!!!!!!
I read this on the air with State Rep Nora Espinoza on NM news and Views……..Nora was so blown away by the words as you may be…………..
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those
who love him. 1 Cor 2:9
These words paint a picture of an unimaginable and extraordinary existence, one far beyond
what any mere mortal has known or experienced. You may have heard these words before and related
them to heaven’s glory, But in actuality, they were penned for the here and now!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the writer, the apostle Paul, continues, “But we know these things because God has revealed
them to us by his Spirit” verse 10.
Paul, who lived during the church’s inception, was divinely moved to bring into the open what had
been previously hidden to our eyes, ears, and imagination. he also wrote the following to describe
the mandate of his life: (THIS IS THE MANDATE THE LORD GAVE ME YESTERDAY, THANK YOU LORD!!!
My task is to bring out in the open and make plain what God, who created all this in the first place,
has been doing in secret and behind the scenes all along. Through followers of Jesus like yourselves
gathered in churches, this extraordinary plan of God is becoming known and talked about even
among the angels! Ephesians 3: 9-10
AMEN PRAISE GOD!
There’s One Person above all others who desires an extraordinary life for you. he is a Father who
delights, like any good Father, in the achievements and happiness of His children. His name is God!
And nothing will please Him more than seeing you reach your highest potential.
God’s extraordinary plan is revealed when we live extraordinary for HIM! Together let’s give the angels
something to talk about!!!!!!!!!!!! AMEN! YES! AMEN! For God’s Glory Alone!
I then was so fired up it carried over to our first Board Meeting of this Ministry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE POOR BOARD MEMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so fired up I could have BURST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, God’s plan and man’s execution of the plan are often not the same.
Christians bring up road blocks to God’s plan, many let man get in the way.
This is why the Church as a whole has become ineffective! We get tied up in NOTHING NOISE!
We must reach our Godly potential! We must be BOLD! We must not be wimps!
Thankfully I have people around me that can keep me kinda grounded!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL!
Today’s world has painted a warped picture and limited image of God’s people!
We have God, we must strive to reach our full potential in our Lord! We must not settle for
second place! The key here is to have a personal relationship with Jesus and move in the Spirit.
I for one, am tired of Christians settling for second place!
Grab a shovel Folks,Lets get to work! let us get our hands dirty for Jesus Christ!
I encourage you to read those words by Paul again before you leave this CUP.

April 20, 2012. The father of lies has been spinning a good one for you. The religious leaders, who were contemporaries of Jesus’ time on earth, were blind and deaf to the devil’s schemes. He deceived them with constant lies. This kept them from the truth. His lies today to religious leaders and their followers, are still keeping them in bondage. Satan’s intent is to confuse and divert them from the truth of God. As intensely and completely as is the love of the Lord for believers, so is the devil’s stealing and planting doubt in our minds. Daily, someone else cries, thinking that because such and such did not happen, meaning that God does not love them.
John 8:43-44 (NLT) “Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me! For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. April 20, 2012. I’ve told you something about someone. You have apprehension about telling them because you wonder what if it doesn’t happen. What if you heard Me wrong? What if you lead them astray? What if they follow what you say I said and it fails? Don’t worry. You aren’t giving direction; you are confirming what I have already been stirring in the desires in their heart … which seem too good to be true. You haven’t had much experience at giving encouraging words. My children need to be bold in prophesying, encouragement to one another. If your heart and words stay under My direction and you are willing to be submitted to others, you will bless many.

Time-tested weight loss methods
The best way to lose weight is not necessarily the fastest one. With all the diet trends, accessories and supplements on the market, we’re bombarded by testimonials of people sporting flat abs and six packs endorsing the latest fad diet. They swear by how effective it has been for them and how they are having the time of their lives.
Who wouldn’t want flat abs or a six pack? Unfortunately, short-term gains are difficult to sustain unless the individual actually decides to make the personal decision to want to live a healthy life.
The best approach to losing weight is to choose a system that, once initiated, can be sustained in the long run. Below are some tips that you can slowly incorporate into your everyday activities. It’s never too late to give it a try:
1. Practice Mindful Eating – Recently, the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior revealed that individuals can still lose weight even if they eat out.
Researchers from the University of Texas observed 35 healthy pre-menopausal women who ate out frequently. Test subjects took part in a six-week program called “Mindful Restaurant Eating.” The focus of this program was on preventing weight gain and not weight loss. Test findings revealed that participants in the intervention group lost more weight, had a lower percentage of fat and a lower average daily caloric intake, and experienced increased self-efficacy in managing diet when eating out.
The message here may simply be to eat in moderation, or, not eating in excess. Depriving yourself of your favorite food may no longer be necessary if you reduce your normal serving to a smaller portion so your body can burn it faster and avoid weight gain. Whenever Louann and I eat out, we always order one meal and split it. Thank goodness we like the same things!
2. Learn to handle stress – Stress, especially stress related to work, is found to increase the chances of obesity. Researchers from the University of Rochester studied the causes of and solutions to obesity in employees from a manufacturing facility in New York. The study looked at 2800 professional male employees and discovered that those in more stressful positions had a BMI unit of weight more than those in less demanding jobs.
The same finding also holds true for women. In 2000, a study conducted by Yale University showed that non-overweight women vulnerable to the effects of stress were more likely to have excess abdominal fat with higher levels of cortisol, a hormone related to stress. Studies have shown that cortisol can affect fat distribution by causing it to be stored in the abdomen around the organs.
3. Drink plenty of water – Recent studies have now shown that drinking water is an effective weight loss strategy. In a study, it was discovered that dieters who drank water before eating three times a day over the course of roughly three months lost five pounds more than those who did not have increased water consumption. Water has no calories and consuming it before meals makes less space for food in the stomach.
Researchers also noted that consuming water was better than soda and other sweetened drinks, which are packed with sugar or artificial sweeteners, additives that have found to contribute heavily to weight gain.
Moreover, it is suggested that six to eight glasses of water be taken daily to maintain the water content of the bile, according to Michael Murray, N.D., and Joseph Pizzorno, N.D., in their book “The Encyclopedia of Healing Foods.” Fresh fruit, pure water and vegetable juices are the preferred methods of meeting the body’s water requirements.
4. Get a sufficient amount of sleep – Not getting enough sleep may increase your chances of becoming overweight in the long run. A recent study from Uppsala University revealed that the brain’s response to food is more active after one night of sleep loss.
Researchers from Uppsala University together with researchers from other European universities studied the brain of 12 males with normal weights while the subjects viewed images of food. They examined regions in the brain involved with appetite sensation using magnetic imaging and compared results after a night with normal sleep and one obtained after one night without sleep. According to Christian Benedict, the lead researcher in the study, “After a night of total sleep loss, these males showed a high level of activation in an area of the brain that is involved in a desire to eat.”
Insufficient sleep appears to be a problem that plagues modern society. Being able to get at least eight hours a night may be crucial in maintaining health and avoiding cardiovascular and weight-related conditions.
5. Exercise your way to health – In a study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, maintaining weight and fitness levels as we grow older may be enough to see significant benefits.
According to Duck-chul Lee, a lead researcher in the study, if you’re overweight, losing weight and improving your fitness may be the best combination for health maintenance. The study discovered that people who kept up or improved their fitness levels lowered their risk of high cholesterol, high blood pressure and their risk to metabolic syndrome (a term used to refer to a group of risk factors for heart disease such as unhealthy cholesterol level, abdominal obesity and high blood sugar.)
At the onset, people who are overweight often fail to notice their weight loss because they get hungrier and start eating more. This shouldn’t discourage them, according to Dr. Lee. What is essential is to use exercise to get fit, and one way to decipher progress is to see how you feel when going through your exercise routine. If it’s getting easier, you are getting fitter.
Again, the best strategy should be something that you can sustain in the long run. These five tips offered above can easily be incorporated into your lifestyle with no extra costs. These can produce incremental changes that eventually add up to the desired result: a better option for weight loss than quick fixes that only provide temporary relief and drain your financial resources.
Thanks Dr. Joe!
