“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12

This from Pastor Leonard…….
From Steve Stucker, KOB weatherman and co-anchor:
Great Joy & Sadness often come hand in hand. My friend Paul is celebrating the birth of his grandson Elijah. He seems like a beautifully healthy baby boy. However, Elijah’s mom, Naomi is having much difficulty & they are afraid her kidneys may be shutting down. Would you please join us in prayer for All of them?
Thank you all for praying.
Leonard

Please also cover in prayer the horrible situation we learned about yesterday in the death of the 3 year old boy from Pojoaque, NM. It appears that little 3 year old Leland Valdez was abused. His mother and her boyfriend have been arrested. The Father had been complaining to Children, Youth and Family Services but no action was taken. Two
CYFD employees have been suspended over this. Please keep this in your prayers. To much child abuse in our Country, we have Parents killing Children! In a photo that just turned my stomach the Albuquerque Journal has a front page picture of little Leland in his hospital bed……..at first I thought why use that photo? But, maybe it will help send a message and also get more involved to battle this horrible issue. The picture of little 3 year old Leland in his hospital bed fighting for his life…does send a message to all of us!
What have we done to our Society?
What future do our Children have in this World?
I understand that only about 10 to 15% of New Mexico goes to Church on Sundays…..
“If Church membership continues to decline in America, then we have lost our moral compass in this Country”. Gary Cox American General Media Market Mgr in Albuquerque.
Gary could not be more right on……..Please pray over those 7 categories we listed yesterday for our Country…….
Education
Military
Government
Media
Church
Families
Economy
We must lift up our Children in prayer! We must protect our Children! Please pray!
We must be leaders in the protection of our Children.
Let us also be in prayer for Marilee………
Did the Lord tell you I needed prayer? Don’t you just love him?
I am actually having a WONDERFUL year! I do have a health challenge. About a year ago I hurt my knee at the gym. I figured it would go away and kept on my merry way. I finally had to stop working out in August due to the pain. And again, I figured it would go away (it’s hard to remember I’m not 30 years old anymore because that’s what I feel like in my brain and spirit). Anyway, I am having difficulty walking. There is always pain, but some days I have to hold on to the wall while I’m walking until things ease up.
I am seeing an orthopedic doctor today. I saw my primary care physician for a referral and X-rays. He called yesterday and said I have moderate arthritis in my right knee. At my age, I’m not surprised, but I still think I’ve pulled something. We will see what the ortho says today.
In light of the horrible things that are happening to other people in the world and our friends who read “The Cup”, I am embarrassed to share this with you as it is pretty minor comparatively.
But, prayer would be appreciated. I’ve anointed my knee with oil and laid hands on it and prayed. My prayer is that the doctor see something and then help me fix it. J
Thank you so much for caring!

Let me close with this today from John Maxwell’s Leadership Bible……..
In less than one generation, the disciples of Jesus progressed from ignorant laborers to BOLD spiritual leaders in what is now the largest organization in the world. How could this occur?
It happened because Jesus spent the bulk of His time with them. The Son of God invested the vast majority of His time with twelve, not twelve hundred. Jesus practiced the axiom: More time with less people equals greater kingdom impact.
Like all good mentors, Jesus provided:
1. Handles: he simplified truth into something His men could grasp, practice, and pass on to others. He took complex theology and made it usable.
2. Roadmaps: Roadmaps give you the big picture; they reveal where you are; they show you what roads to take; and they tell you what roads to avoid; Jesus did this consistently with the Twelve.
3. Laboratories: labs are safe places for experimentation. Jesus didn’t just lecture, he provided labs for His disciples to practice what they learned.
4. Roots: Jesus gave His followers a firm foundation and a sense of heritage. They sunk their roots into solid ground and were willing to die for Him and His teaching.
5. Wings: Jesus empowered His men to soar beyond where He went Himself (John 14:12) he pushed them and cheered them on in their victories.
WOW! POWERFUL from John Maxwell! I encourage you to have a Maxwell leadership Bible!
We are praying for you all……..Please pray over the 7 categories! In the name of Jesus, AMEN!
