Here are a couple of notes after yesterdays program with Pastor Paul Holt, who wrote about Egypt and the Muslim World in the CUP yesterday and talked about it last night on NM News and Views……..
Dewey,
You are to be commended for your commentary on Islam. It takes great courage to be “Politically Incorrect” in these matters–especially when it comes to Islam. You are in my prayers for protection as you continue to speak out. I wish that I had your courage.

Carol Crossland says…… Thanks for being that trustworthy outlet! Bless you Dewey!

You have to see this Dewey.
Looking up Special Events on the La Cueva High School (Albuquerque, NM) home page, my daughter found this. This pro-gay publication has outraged us! We will be writing the principal but would love for you to expose this too. Here is an excerpt but the whole thing is so upsetting:
“Ex-gay ministry refers to the religious groups that use religion to attempt to eliminate those desires. Typically, sexual orientation conversion therapy is promoted by providers who have close ties to religious institutions and organizations. Some religion-based organizations such as Focus on the Family have invested significant resources in the promotion of sexual orientation
conversion therapy and ex-gay ministries to educators and young people in conferences, in advertising, and in the media.
This booklet provides information from physicians, counselors, social workers, psychologists, legal experts, and educators who are knowledgeable about the development of sexual orientation in youth and the issues raised by sexual orientation conversion therapy and ex-gay ministry. Recognizing that sexual orientation is not an illness and does not require treatment, professional school counselors may provide individual student planning or responsive services to LGBTQ students to promote self-acceptance, deal with social acceptance, understand issues related to “coming out,” including issues that families may face when a student goes through this process, and identify appropriate community resources.”

I hope people are alarmed about this indoctrination of our children.
Thanks Dewey,

Here is a news report from our Dear Friend Jose Vasquez in Santa Fe………
Defining Marriage in New Mexico
the 2011 New Mexico Legislative Session
Dear Friends,
New Mexicans experienced a wonderful victory in the election of Governor Susana Martinez. There is a dramatic change in having the state’s chief executive in favor of a pro-life, pro-marriage agenda. That agenda now has an opportunity to move forward.
In past few years, the first step toward any pro-family, pro-life legislation has often been its last. The first rung on the ladder has almost always been insurmountable. With Governor Martinez, the last step is almost guaranteed but the issue is how to get beyond the first committee.
Currently there are one bill and three “Joint Resolutions” that would move New Mexico toward defining marriage as being between one man and one woman. They are:
HJR 7Defining Marriage [Rep. Nora Espinoza sponsor]
HJR 8 Marriage Defined [Rep. David Chavez sponsor]
HB 162 Limit Recognition of Certain Marriages [Rep. Chavez sponsor]
SJR 4 Marriage Defined [Sen. William Sharer sponsor]
Typically legislation is assigned to two committees in the initiating chamber and, if successful, proceeds to the floor for a vote. With passage of the legislation in that chamber, it is then sent to the second chamber for two committees and a final vote.
It is generally assumed that the assignment of legislation to three committees is a ‘kiss of death’ if for no other reason than the time constraint of the session. A ‘no’ vote or a tie vote in a committee kills the legislation. Chairman Ben Lujan has assigned two of these House initiatives, HJR 7 and 8, to three committees.
The three House legislative items have been assigned to the House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee (CPAC). The task ahead is to convince three of the five members of the committee that defining marriage as being between one man and one woman is not only natural and necessary, but it strengthens all of our institutions and society.
The House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee consists of a very liberal chair and vice chair, Gail Chasey and Antonio Maestas respectively; two Republicans, Thomas Anderson and Dennis Kintigh; and a second term Democrat, Mr. Bill O’Neil.
Mr O’Neil is a member of the Juvenile Parole Board. He knows first-hand the destruction caused by disrupted families. The other side will try to convince Rep. O’Neil that sanctioning homosexual couples creates secure relationships for children. It does not.
It is the job of the church to convince Mr. O’Neil that by defining marriage as being other than between one man and one woman, our society is damaged. Our children are naturally maintained and sustained and will need fewer services if a natural relationship is defined, preserved and maintained. (Mr. O’Neil’s contact information appears at the end of this message.)
We will be informed by the Traditional Values Action Committee New Mexico when these issues come before the committees. You will want to go to the website and sign up for these alerts. (click here – tvacnm.com) Please pray for our Governor and the New Mexico State Legislature. And please contact your legislators to encourage them to support of these bills.
Your in Christ,
Jose Vasquez
