Dear KKIM/KARS family,
It pained me this morning to hear on the other end of the phone Pastor Larry Moss (I CALL HIM BIG BEAR BECAUSE HE IS LIKE A BIG TEDDY BEAR, BUT HE SHOOTS IT STRAIGHT) anyhow, I could hear the bad pain in Larry’s voice…..he so tired……he never has been in such pain…….ever since Larry retired from Heights Cumberland his health has deteriorated. This man is one of my hero’s. He has been by my side since I came to KKIM/KARS. He has been a prayer partner and a guide. If it were not for Larry KKIM would not have had a 35th Anniversary Party……he foot the bill for the whole thing!
Larry has been with KKIM for nearly 40 years……a Spiritual GIANT here in New Mexico…….As Pastor Alan Hawkins has said many times, “Larry is the Father of many Pastor’s in this state….he has raised us all up!”
I first got to know Larry through his son Greg, who past away a few years ago, Greg was a mentor of my son Lars. Lars attended the school at Heights. Greg was so good with Lars.
When I came to KKIM nearly 6 years ago now,, one of the first I went to visit for guidance was Larry, He gave me his thoughts on the pluses and minuses as to where the KKIM Ministry was at. He talked, as many did when I came here, about the tremendous Godly Legacy of KKIM, and also what he thought needed to be done to raise up the Ministry. He delivered his message very kindly but sternly.
I have taken those word’s of Godly wisdom from Larry and put them to work in my years at KKIM. Larry stresses to me that you have to be CALLED TO MINISTRY, not just apply! He really touched my heart awhile back when he said on our TV program, “Dewey it is very evident to me that you have been called to KKIM, God has called you….you have not done anything dumb you have honored your calling…you have been called by God, and there is a huge difference in being called and just applying, God has called you.”
Larry also shared this…”I would not have your job for the life of me!” LOL LOL LOL!!!!!
Radio Ministry get’s tougher.
That’s one main reason I so value my relationship with Larry Moss, during these tough times to pick up the phone and pray with my Mentor, to seek guidance.
I just share this with you this morning, my testimony on how impactful Larry Moss has been in my life…….and Thousands, and Thousands all over New Mexico and Southern Colorado and for that matter all over the United States.
It is very hurtful to see him in such pain……….he fell the other day and his shoulder pains him so………he cannot see a specialist for another 3 weeks……please keep him in your prayers.
I also ask for your continued prayers for Juliet Tross, I talked to her yesterday afternoon on the phone and she is wore out. They are having her go through a battery of tests. Please pray. Also pray for her Hubby, our Buddy Pastor Mark Tross, he is going through the mill right now.
Please also pray for Cowboy Clarence Montoya, his Aunt Judy passed on yesterday.
I also ask for prayer for our Cross International Radio-A-Thon for Orphans in Mozambique this Tuesday. Please cover us in your prayers on this effort.
Please also pray for the Lord to give me HIS word’s for my National Day of Prayer Presentation at Cross of Hope Church at 7am this Thursday.
I had such a wonderful meeting with Pastor Dale Bauer of Cross of Hope yesterday……..talking about where we are at as Christians in this World…….it was a wonderful Godly conversation with such a Godly man.
The message from Pastor Dale for me and all of us is…….Keep giving it straight…..God’s Word from the Bible.
Pray on these word’s from Michael Baughen author of The Prayer Principle, Getting to Know God…..
We do believe He is Lord and that “in everything God works for good with those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose” (THE CALL, HAVE YOU BEEN CALLED? OR DID YOU JUST APPLY? AND GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS?)
We testify to the way in which He has brought good out of evil, blessing out of disaster, and healing out of sickness. We do not have to praise for evil to demonstrate this conviction. Jesus never does. Nor do any of the Apostles.
The key to triumph is in being able to separate the problem or circumstance from our spirit of praise. Let me explain. When the seventy return from their mission in Luke 10, they are full of praise for what has happened. Jesus says to them: “Do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
AMEN!!!
In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and family
