Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May God be with you and yours this day and all days!
How are you doing in reading the book of Proverbs? Are you reading a Chapter a day?
We should be on Proverbs 3 today.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways.
How many times have we read that verse, but it does not soak in?……it does not soak all the way in so that we do that at all times………
He will guide you on the right paths.
So today when you are deciding what to do……..which way to deal with a problem, turn to the LORD in everything and listen for the answer. Do not rely on yourself, rely on HIM.
For even what you say..let the Words come from the LORD.
Don’t consider yourself to be wise; fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
This will be healing for your body and strengthening for your bones.
Proverbs 3: 5-8
The most powerful vitamin you can take is God’s Word!!!!
Let us be in prayer for Pastor Steve Williams, this from pastor Bill Ruhl…….

Yesterday I was one of three Pastor’s at the funeral service of Scott Cheney. It was a day when the small community of Tucumcari gathered to honor firefighter Scott Cheney. The entire Fire Dept. was there to honor the life of Scott. This 37 year old Husband to Marci, Father to 11 year old Steven was taken by an illness that put him in bed for 2 years. Scott went home to the Lord last week. As I presided over the grave yard service, I held up Scott as the husband and Father he was here on this earth to Marcie and Steven. At the service at the Church, over 20 people came to the Lord!!!! Scott, the firefighter he was, was still saving lives at his funeral service, through his funeral, just think, over 20 accepted Jesus Christ!!! I held up Marcie to this community as one who took her marriage vows to her heart and soul….sticking with her husband through sickness and death. Marci standing by her man during these two years making sure her husband got the love and care he needed. Raising 11 year old Steven at the same time. I called on this community to take care of Marci and Steven, because after everyone leaves them over the next few days, much will fall in on them. Let it be said that at our funeral service over 20 people came to Jesus Christ as they answered the call to come to Jesus Christ!!!!
I will always remember Scott Cheney as a man who was still saving lives as a Firefighter at his funeral as he watched from above in Heaven with our Father.
Dewey,
Thanks for being so faithful. The Daily Cup is a source of inspiration to me! I just wanted to share with you that last night in my prayer time, I really prayed for you in a fervant manner. The Lord laid you on my heart, and I prayed that you will feel a deep refreshing from Him, and that you will find a renewed sense of strength from the Lord as you continue in His work. I just wanted you to know that there are many praying for you, and keeping you lifted up before the Lord. Be strong, be in peace, and know that you are loved by many!
God Bless You!

WOW! here is a True Love story like Scott and Marci…..from Pastor Leonard……..
From my friend Dean Pinney on Facebook:
I fell in love today
I had been working all morning trying to get things in order so that
we could finally move into the house. Lisa was painting the rooms and
I was getting things done outside when I decided I would take a break
and have some lunch. Lisa had already eaten and I needed to just get
away, the stress of it all was really getting to me and I just needed
some time alone. We moved clear across the country to be closer to
her family. I have exhausted myself in search of a church here that
would need what I have to offer. I have accepted that I will have to
do something else until God gives me permission to be in the ministry
again. Feeling like the world was crashing down, I stopped at this
quaint little place down the street from our house that looked like it
was right out of the fifties. I decided a good old fashioned hamburger
was just what I needed to get my perspective right. I sat down and
admired the charm of the old place and enjoyed hearing Buddy Holly on
the jukebox. Just as I sat down, another couple (obviously in their
late 80s) sat down at the table beside mine. He carefully helped her
in her chair and he meticulously wrapped the napkin around her and he
fixed her hair and then sat down across from her, holding her hands
across the table. I was drawn to the look on his face as he ordered
for her and asked her if he could cut her hamburger for her. But the
truth was, it was something else that caught my attention more than
that. It was their discussion. They were discussing this new president
and how an actor could possibly be a good president. “Couldn’t do
worse than that crazy peanut farmer,” he smiled. I realized that their
entire conversation was taking place in 1980. I couldn’t help but
wonder what kinds of mental issues they were dealing with; after all,
that is my specialty. I pondered the possibilities, but none seemed to
be the case. She was so excited that he got the raise today; they
could finally add the baby room on to the house in time for the baby
to get here in December. After a while of this bizarre experience they
got up as he helped her to the restroom where he stood guard outside
the door asking periodically if she was ok. While they were gone, the
waitress came over and began to tell me how that every day for sixteen
years they have been coming here. It seems that she has Alzheimer’s
and doesn’t know him except when they come here. Something about this
place and 1980 is lodged in her memories and has defeated Alzheimer’s
for an hour each day for sixteen years. They have come to this same
place, sat in this same table and had this same conversation every day
for sixteen years. All of a sudden, perspective hit me square in the
face. What did I have to worry about? A job? A ministry? As I watched
him love her I realized that I had let love slip through my fingers. I
love my wife, but I haven’t LOVED her. He didn’t complain, or get
angry or bemoan his circumstances—he just made the most of an hour
each day to love her with all he had. I couldn’t help myself, love was
all over that place and I just fell in. I realized that I had so much
more to do at the house and I couldn’t stay any longer, so I paid my
check and got up to leave. But not before I heard him talking with her
about names for the baby…he sure loved her. I got back to the house
and all the mess and work and frustration wasn’t so overwhelming
anymore. I still have no idea why I don’t have a ministry. I still
have no idea why I have such a hard time finding work. I still have no
idea why things worked out the way they did. But of this one thing I
know—I have the love of my life to walk with me through these days and
to share the burden of it all. And I have the rest of our lives to
learn to love her better and to put my needs and cares behind and just
LOVE her. I don’t know what struggles you are having today, but I hope
my story helps you to fall in love too; to get some perspective and to
learn to love now so that there are no regrets later. I gotta go, lots
of painting and work to do. I am not sure what the rest of today
holds, but one thing is for sure, this afternoon I fell in love.
WOW! PRAISE GOD!!! Thanks for sharing Leonard!!!
Here is our Medical Bag with Dr. Joe……..
Are Bananas the Best Source of Potassium?
Your body uses potassium to keep your nerves and muscles firing efficiently, and an adequate intake can blunt sodium’s effect on blood pressure.
One 2009 study found that a 2:1 ratio of potassium to sodium could halve your risk of heart disease, and since the average American consumes about 3,400 milligrams of sodium each day, your goal should be 6,800 milligrams of daily potassium.
You’re extremely unlikely to ever reach that mark — and never with bananas alone. One medium banana has 422 milligrams and 105 calories. Here are the sources that earn you roughly the same amount of potassium in fewer calories:
* Potato, half a medium spud, 80 calories
* Apricots, 5 whole fruit, 80 calories
* Cantaloupe, 1 cup cubes, 55 calories
* Broccoli, 1 full stalk, 50 calories
* Sun-dried tomatoes, a quarter cup, 35 calories
