PRAISE GOD! Anita Montoya was dismissed from the hospital after Cancer surgery and the Doctor’s were able to remove all the cancer!!! She is already home!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
Please pray for Pastor Leonard and his wife Diana. Diana’s Mother Opal is getting closer to Graduation day. This is always a very sad time as we let go of our loved one here. Leonard told me last night it is like saying goodbye to someone going on a cruise and we will never see them again here on earth, but when the cruise ship get’s to the destination on the other side they will be greeted by those in heaven. End of life issues are difficult.
As Pastor Don Piper the Author of 90 Minutes in Heaven said,” Heaven is a prepared place…….are you prepared?”

AMEN! What words of encouragement!
I am very thankful that I met Chuck Colson a few years back at the Biblical Worldview Conference in Albuquerque and got to interview him! What a blessing. That is when I asked him about his dear friend former Minnesota Governor Al Quie calling President Ford and wanting to take Chuck’s place in prison so Chuck could be with his family. The story is in Al Quie’s book. Governor Quie helped bring Chuck to Jesus Christ! What a story of the love of God between Chuck Colson and Al Quie! By the way Al Quie is 88 years old now! Lord thank you for the lives of Chuck Colson and Al Quie!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fmr Congressman Bill Redmond was very instrumental in bringing Chuck Colson to Albuquerque for the Biblical Worldview Conference, Bill shares this with us: I’m sure you know by now that our dear brother, Chuck Colson, is now with our King. Secular media outlets are dwelling on Chucks’ faults from his early life. This treatment of Chuck by the secular media is a testimony to the fact that those who believe in a Materialist / Naturalist worldview have no basis for grace. Their eyes are still veiled. Some headlines read, “Watergate Figure ‘Evil Genius’ Dies at 80.” Pray that one day they will see what Chuck saw, God’s grace. Pray that one day they will sing with Chuck his favorite song, “Amazing Grace.”

Dear friends,
I pass this along to you with sadness in my heart as well. Chuck Colson (1931-2012) made a tremendous impact on my life when I returned from a ministry in Canada in 1990. I began volunteering with Prison Fellowship in Albuquerque at that time. In 1998 when I retired from a local church pastoral ministry, I was asked to join Prison Fellowship’s area office in Albuquerque as a Volunteer Coordinator by my friend Homer Gonzales. I left that ministry in 2000 to become the Senior Pastor of Heights Christian Church until 2010. Dorothy and I had the privilege of meeting Chuck Colson personally in Reston, Virginia, and then again last year at the Worldview Conference held in Albuquerque. We have read all of his books and often used his material for teaching sessions at church, etc. I considered him a modern day prophet to the church and have quoted him many times.
There is one illustration that I heard from Chuck the first time in 1990, when he spoke at a Prison Fellowship Conference in Albuquerque. I have used it over and over again because it’s absolutely true. When talking of crime and its consequences, Chuck reminded us that “crime is a matter of the heart and until the heart changes, there will always be crime. Only a new life in Jesus Christ can change the heart.”
I’ll never forget that statement and I hope you will remember it as well. In our contemporary culture where “everyone’s a victim” and wrong doing is always “someone else’s fault,” we must remember that we will all be held accountable for our personal decisions and choices and God will judge us accordingly. But thank God through Jesus Christ, who has paid the price for all of our sins, we have been cleansed and forgiven by His grace, the moment we accepted His free gift of eternal life by faith in Him (1 Peter 2:24-25). Through His love and redeeming act for us, we have become a “new creation” (2 Cor.5:17) and have been given a “new heart” (Rom. 5:5).
Chuck will be deeply missed but no doubt the angels in heaven are rejoicing. God bless.

The following is information provided by Jack. Hello, I am a T9, complete paraplegic since Dec. 1976 from a car accident. I live on my own with my dog in my own home. I work full time for the State of New Mexico as a Rehabilitation Counselor in public vocational rehabilitation for persons with disabilities since 1997. I obtained a Master’s degree in 2004. I had been active in long distance pushing including racing, kenpo karate and dancing every weekend until 7 or 8 years ago. I am now 51 years old. After years of pushing and transferring my shoulders are shot. I have a torn left rotator cuff that the doctor stated surgery probably would not do any good. The best he could do surgically would be a partial repair that would entail a long recovery requiring 100% assistance for at least 3 months. Then it may not make much of a difference. Right now I am still able to transfer but carefully and slowly.

April 23, 2012. A situation which was once very clear and delightful has become confusing. You aren’t sure what needs to happen to clear things up, or at least right now what you should do. More than one person is involved. Turn all of this over to Me. Do that with no demand or presupposition of the outcome. All those involved need to grow in compromise and deferring. Not compromise of character, but a compromise of knowing how to work together. What you need to do concerning the others is pray for them to follow My will. If you will follow My will and others do the same a peaceful delightful conclusion will result.

April 23, 2012. You are establishing some very healthy disciplines that you will carry with you for a lifetime. You have seen the error of your ways and have made a complete turnaround in your life. One day my Gramma was out, and my Grampa was in charge of me.
I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys.
Grampa was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of ‘tea’, which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Gramma came home.
My Grampa made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was ‘just the cutest thing!’ Gramma waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Grampa, and she watched him drink it up.
Then she said, (as only a gramma would know), “‘Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?”

‘Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the
right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! God works the same way. Many times we wonder why
He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things
all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all
make something wonderful!

April 22, 2012. I dreamed that we were getting ready to continue rebuilding some old houses. The past rebuilding had gone really well. I asked the builder who was the architect? As he was walking out of sight he said, “I looked him up in the phone book but now I can’t find him. You know in the Bible says, Do not put your trust in man.” “Someone knows better but is beginning to trust more in man than in Me. Keep your total trust in Me. Don’t be a cynic but also don’t put your full trust in the one who you have been tempted to do so. Keep your emotions in control.”

April 22, 2012. Like Abraham, you have been called to a place to receive your inheritance. What steps of faith are you taking hold of through obedience? Become like Abraham, who didn’t know where he was going, he went forward in obedience. Will you be as Esau, who gave up his inheritance for momentary pleasure? His knee-jerk reaction overtook his rightful inheritance. The Apostle Paul prayed that your eyes receive revelation of the hope set before you, the riches and glory in the inheritance of My holy people. What inheritance are you leaving to your spiritual sons and daughters and their children? What is your heart in tune with? Is it temporary or eternal?

Women Not Getting Enough Exercise; At Risk of Developing Metabolic Syndrome
A national study shows that women are less likely than men to get at least 30 minutes of exercise per day, resulting in greater odds of developing metabolic syndrome – a risky and increasingly prevalent condition related to obesity.
Metabolic syndrome is a name for a group of risk factors – including high cholesterol, high blood pressure and extra weight around the middle part of the body – which occur together and increase the risk for coronary disease, stroke, and Type 2 diabetes. The researchers initially were interested in the correlation between physical activity, depression and metabolic syndrome, and ended up finding a gender difference.
The study, now online in the journal Preventive Medicine, was conducted at Oregon State University by Paul Loprinzi and Bradley Cardinal, professor of social psychology of physical activity at OSU. Loprinzi is now an assistant professor of exercise science at Bellarmine University. He conducted the research when he was a student in Cardinal’s lab at OSU.
“The results indicate that regular physical activity participation was associated with positive health outcomes for both men and women; however, there was a greater strength of association for women,” Loprinzi said.
Looking at more than 1,000 men and women from a nationally represented sample, the researchers found that women were getting only about 18 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous exercise daily, compared to men who, on average, were getting 30 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous exercise daily.
“Those who get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day are less likely to be depressed, less likely to have high cholesterol and less likely to have metabolic syndrome,” Loprinzi said.
Loprinzi and Cardinal’s study is unique in part because it is the first to use an “objective” measure of physical activity – in this case participants were outfitted with accelerometers that measured daily activity. In their study, slightly more than one in three women had metabolic syndrome, and one in five had symptoms of depression.
“It’s pretty striking what happens to you if you don’t meet that 30 minutes a day of activity,” Cardinal said. “Women in our sample had better health behavior – they were much less likely to smoke for instance, but the lack of activity still puts them at risk.”
Cardinal said depression puts people at more risk of abdominal fat and insulin resistance, and both are risk factors for metabolic syndrome.
“Physical activity has been shown to reduce depression,” he said. “So the key message here is to get that 30 minutes of exercise every day because it reduces a great deal of risk factors.”
While their study does not address why women were not getting enough exercise, the authors said research shows that physical activity patterns often begin in childhood.
“Research has shown that around ages 5 or 6 these patterns begin,” Cardinal said. “Parents tend to be more concerned with the safety of girls, and have more restrictive practices around outdoor time and playtime than with boys.”
Loprinzi said this pattern tends to continue into adulthood, and that overall confidence may be a factor.
“Some evidence indicates that women, compared to men, have less confidence in their ability to overcome their exercise-related barriers,” Loprinzi said, adding that women also often cite a lack of time to exercise due to child-rearing.
The researchers have a study coming out that may help those time-challenged women. Loprinzi said he and Cardinal found that adults can still enhance their health by accumulating physical activity in short periods throughout the day, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or pacing while talking on the phone.
