I am sorry that I was not able to attend Time To Revives Revival in Asheville, NC. With KKIM’s 40th Birthday Praise and Worship and the launching of our new station, All News, All The Time, AM860 I could not getaway. I was so blessed to go there in the fall and be with the gang and make new friends in our Lord. We are blessed to be able to carry the Time To Revive radio program weekdays at 5:30am and 4pm. It is so AWESOME to hear the stories coming our of Asheville as a result of the Revival. You can also visit Time To Revive at www.timetorevive.com Ray Sturdivant host of Mining The Truth, weekday mornings on KKIM at 7:35 was there with his family………..here is a message from Ray………
Hey Dewey,
Asheville was unbelievable. I got to experience it with my wife, sister in law, daughter in law and step son. My step son, Cassey, and I went into the prisons on Friday and got to lead 5 inmates to Christ. My stepson said this trip has changed his life.
God is good all the time.
Below is what I am thinking about.
Thanks for all that you do,
Ray
Thank you Ray………Share more with us when you can. Dr. Kyle Martin will be with me today on NM News and Views at 4:25 to talk about Asheville!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!
Here’s Ray’s message for us this day………
Spiritual Jealousy.
Have you ever seen a follower of Jesus who just had so much Jesus in them and flowing out of them that you asked God to give you what they have? That in my opinion is spiritual jealousy.
But those words just don’t seem like they belong together. When we think of jealousy we immediately think of sin but the Bible uses jealousy in a positive way as well.
James 4:5 Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”?
God passionately wants us to experience walking by the Holy Spirit with the life of Jesus or abundant life flowing through us. I believe the above verse is describing the fact that God wants us to only listen to His voice. God is said to be a jealous God in many passages, meaning that He wants intimacy with us and that He does not intend to share His preeminence over us with anyone or anything.
But Paul also speaks of a spiritual jealousy that God uses to turn people toward Him. In the following passage, Paul is specifically talking about the fact that God uses the salvation of the Gentiles to stir spiritual jealousy in the Jews in order to turn them to Christ and save some of them.
Romans 11: 11 I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous. 12 Now if their transgression is riches for the world and their failure is riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fulfillment be! 13 But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if somehow I might move to jealousy my fellow countrymen and save some of them.
When others see in us the life of Christ on display, they see what the whole world is looking for and doesn’t even know it. One of the reasons that some are very effective in leading others to Christ is that they have the life of Christ flowing through them in such a way that others see it and are moved to spiritual jealousy to crave that kind of life. God uses that spiritual jealousy as a tool of conversion.
Spiritual jealousy can be a positive motivation among believers as well if it motivates a desire for more intimacy with God. This isn’t a sinful jealousy since the intimacy with God that produces abundant life is available to each one of us when we start to crave it and pray for it. Bumping into someone who is experiencing the abundant life that Jesus promised is God’s way of showing us what we can have and that we don’t have to compromise with the world to get it.
There are 2 people that God has brought into my life that stirred this spiritual jealousy in my heart until I prayed to have what they have. I believe without this kind of spiritual jealousy, I would have settled for less than what God had for me. I believe the following passage is telling us that when we lean in dependency on Christ, He will create new desires for abundant life in our heart that only He can fulfill.
Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.
I believe this kind of jealousy is not a sin at all but is Holy Spirit inspired. It is one of the ways God creates a desire in us that fulfills His desire for us to experience abundant life. Developing a passion for more Jesus when we recognize Him in others is sometimes the greatest motivation to move forward when we can’t find the motivation on our own.
AMEN Ray!!!!
Yesterday I got a call at the Radio Ranch from a nice man that I was not able to spend enough time with, I pray that he calls back. He had heard the discussion that Pastor Paul Holt and I were having on the 10 Commandments and the Fear of God. he wondered if I knew of a Pastor that had a Church that Preached on the Fear of God! WOW! I would think every Pastor does. But what I find in my days is that people are searching for God’s Word and they are not always getting it from the Church they attend.
The person who fears God has nothing to hide. We picked up on this conversation with Pastor Steve Smothermon last night on the program. The person who fears God has nothing to hide and in fact is scared to be away from God.
King David had a holy fear of God but still ran toward Him and said, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. Point out anything that offends you” psalm 139: 23-24
I suggest we pray over that scripture everyday!
To fear God includes, but is more than, respecting Him. It is to give Him the place of glory, honor, reverence, thanksgiving, praise, and preeminence He deserves. He holds this position with us when we esteem Him and His desires over and above our own or others. We will hate what He hates and love what He loves. We passionately seek the truth in our “inward parts.” Holy fear is manifested by our unconditional obedience to Him, whether we understand what he’s up to or not.
When we properly fear God, we know that we can’t hide anything from our Creator and that we will stand before the Lord as we really are, not as our projected selves. The somewhat surprising result: We feel very secure.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Psalm 111:10
And Again……….
Friendship with the Lord is reserved for those who fear Him.
With them he shares the secrets of his covenant. 25:14
The Lord will not reveal Himself or His true wisdom to those who lack holy fear. He must take preeminence in a person’s life. Not just in word and form, but in a deep rooted heart decision: “My life is not my own; it belongs to my Lord, Jesus Christ.”
AMEN! Please pray that the man who called yesterday will get back in touch with me.
Further down in this Posting, Pastor Paul Holt picks up our discussion on the 10 Commandments.
We were all shocked by this news yesterday that KKIM’s Frank Haley first reported in the morning………
>>Voice Of The Martyrs Leader Dead In Apparent Suicide
(Bartlesville, OK) — A ministry focused on assisting believers in countries where they suffer persecution has lost their leader to an apparent suicide. Baptist Press says 64-year-old Tom White led Voice of the Martyrs for more than 20 years. Police found his body in a warehouse at VOM headquarters in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on the heels of a molestation investigation by local authorities. A statement from VOM says “Our hearts are broken” but the ministry “will continue serving with our persecuted brothers and sisters.”
As KKIM listener Martha says we must pray for our Spiritual leaders, we must pray for each other…….I am reminded of the story that Pastor Leonard told me awhile back, a man on a plane was praying for the death of 1,000 Pastors!
Yes Dewey, regrettably I heard the news on KKIM NM News and Views, and also rec’d. your e-mail. Satan is alive and well, and an acute reminder for all of us to be much in prayer for our spiritual leaders! Thank you for your prompt response to my inquiry, but the truth hurts deeply. God knows and cares compassionately for all those affected by this sad and shocking news! He is our Healer! God bless you, Dewey! Martha
Here is a posting on the death of Tom White who was just in Albuquerque in March to speak……….
By Mike Miller
Tom White
The death of Tom White, executive director of Voice of the Martyrs, on April 17 was a profound shock.
White, who experienced persecution himself while imprisoned for 17 months in Cuban jails, took his own life.
VOM reports that he was facing allegations of “inappropriate contact with a young girl.”
“Rather than face those allegations, and all of the resulting fallout for his family and this ministry and himself, Tom appears to have chosen to take his own life,” the statement says.
The Associated Press had more information, according to The Christian Post:
The AP also revealed that the police had requested from the Washington County District Court an order to have White’s cell phone carrier provide “real time GPS pinging” of his phone in hopes of discovering his whereabouts. Authorities had noted in the document that White “had been reported to have molested a 10-year-old juvenile female” and disappeared as the investigation got underway.
Tom was found dead at VOM headquarters.
My wife and I have read Tom’s column in VOM’s monthly newsletter for years and have been inspired by his passion for the persecuted church. I talked to Tom twice over the years about persecuted believers when I was a religion editor. One time was when the Willow Creek church hosted a Muslim following 9/11 and allowed him to represent Islam in a favorable and somewhat misleading light with no rebuttal or clarification. Tom dealt constantly with Christians in Muslim-dominated nations who endured persecution everyday. He wasn’t happy with Willow Creek’s handling of the matter. I always loved his straight talk.
I don’t know what to think about the allegations, but I do know that even great men of faith still have their failings and weaknesses. I’m angered, though, that Tom didn’t stand and face the charges, or, if he was guilty, take responsibility for what he did. Perhaps he realized that molestation is just another form of persecution, and that, if he indeed had molested the girl, he had become the persecutor. The difference is that persecution for religious belief can lead to wonderful testimonies and the growth of the Gospel. Molestation leaves scars that can only be healed by a loving Father in heaven.
I pray that Tom’s family and the VOM staff will be comforted during this tragic time. I also pray for the girl and her family.
One thing I know for sure is that, because of Tom White’s work, thousands of persecuted Christians around the world have received relief, encouragement and support.
Let us be in prayer over this situation.
The Ten Commandments and Christian Living
Posted by Pastor Paul on April 25, 2012
Why don’t people live by the Ten Commandments, what is our responsibility to them and how can anyone keep them? –Joe
At the core of a life surrendered to Jesus are the commands of God, the way in which we are to walk and live. There are 613 commandment listed in the Torah (the first five books) with the Ten Commandments being a summary of the 613. Jesus summarized the Ten with two, to love the Lord and your neighbor and scripture encapsulating it all with the just shall live by faith.
The Sages of Israel taught that the Torah contains 613 commandments. Yet, according to the Talmud, all 613 can be reduced to one, simple summary. “Habakkuk came and based all 613 on one principle, as it is written, ‘But the righteous shall live by faith.’” (b.Makkot 24a quoting Habakkuk 2:4)
The Ten Commandments of the Lord can be found in Deuteronomy 5. The word commandment, although rightly translated in English, can be misleading. The word used in Hebrew is devarim – דברים : “words”, and is more completely understood as words of order. The root word of which is debar and is used in the name for the honey bee.
The Ten Commandments can be better understood to mean the words of God that bring order, or the Ten Realities. This is important to grasp as we tend to believe we can break commandments. Realities, however, will break you.
You might compare this to driving. We might compare the commandments to breaking the speed limit. We know that humans that drive will tend to exceed the speed limit by 5 or 10 miles an hour until they see a police officer. Then you see them go under the speed limit by 5 or 10 miles an hour. It would be better to compare God’s realities to someone who drives a truck that is 16 feet tall and comes upon an over pass that is only 15 feet and some inches tall. Would he look around for a police officer and try to get away with going under that pass? I don’t think he would.
When we look at the Ten Commandments, we must begin with our relationship with Yeshua (Jesus). In Christianity, we start with Deuteronomy 5:7, You shall have no other gods before Me. Really, we start with verse 6, ‘I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.
The commandments begin with a relationship. The Lord brings us out of our bondage to sin, our bondage to our flesh. It is impossible to obey the Lord in our flesh. The Apostle Paul makes this clear in the book of Romans. It is not until we enter into fellowship with Him, adopted into His family and have our heart of stone exchanged for a heart of flesh that we are able to live by the Spirit and walk in His ways.
Grace allows us entrance to the path and way of the Lord. It is not until we enter though our Lord Jesus Christ that we are able to keep His reality. It is not possible to keep the Sabbath until we have submitted to the Lord of the Sabbath. It is impossible to be faithful with the Faithful One showing us how.
We are no longer under the law of sin and death, but we are now able to hit the mark by the power of the Living Word of God. The Ten Commandments are meant to teach us how to live, how to rest and how to glorify and worship God. May we always hold them in the highest regard.

Would you help us feed and educate the poorest of the poor Philippine Children?
April 26, 2012. Last Sunday at my church, I sensed God’s glory even as I walked onto the parking lot. Upon entering the foyer and entrance to the sanctuary with greeters smiling and laughing, I saw the glory of my God shining forth. During the ordination of a deacon, the glory spread all around. At times, I just bowed my head and rubbed myfingers together over and over again praying and praising as the worship team was wafting the glory all about. My soul rejoiced to the point that I felt my body would explode with sheer bliss. The Lord says, “Such it is and more in Heaven with all the angels. You are being equipped and made ready for more and more and more. Rejoice that you can experience this in this life.

April 26, 2012. Often you feel like you are doing something wrong. Most times you haven’t, but that makes no difference. During your life this has happened time and time again. It has happened so many times it has become commonplace. I don’t want you carrying that burden. It is pulling you down into mediocrity. It is time to stop. But how? You don’t know if you can. This started when you were young and has become a way of life. When you feel this way tell Me as soon as you realize it. Then continue listening and following Me step by step. I will separate the truth from lies and you will be free.
1 John 2:20-21 (NLT) “But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth. So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies.” Bev Robinson

April 26, 2012. Have you ever stopped and taken the time to realize how tough obedience is? Why is it that we can see the benefits in store for someone else’s obedience? Yet we ourselves are often blind, deaf, and mute when an issue involves our obedient response? The rewards of obedience seem farfetched in the heat of the moment and we often fall victim to the very crooked mindset we see others get trapped by. Listen carefully to what is being spoken and have quick obedience. Slow obedience isn’t obedience at all. In regard to obedience, respond with your heart and not with your head. Listen, obey and possess.
Hebrews 11:8 (NASB) “By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.” Kevin Robinson
Here is Doctor Joe!!!!!!!!!!!
The other day, I was in the gym exercising near the windows and I saw an overweight, stern, middle aged woman, walking with a cane, coming out of the beauty salon. She looked as if she could barely make it to the outdoor chair she was honed in on. She no sooner sat down, when she put a cigarette in her mouth and lit up. This sad ‘ol sickly gal could be a poster child for exactly what NOT to do to live a long, healthy, and happy life.
She either doesn’t know, or just doesn’t care, that this single act is probably the vilest and most poisonous thing you can do to damage your body. I have never understood why folks smoke or are around second hand smoke…it’s totally disgusting and repulsive to me. I saw the other day where New Zealand is considering raising the price of a pack of cigarettes to $100! And in some areas of California it’s illegal to smoke in private residencies and apartment complexes. My personal belief is that smoking is, without exception, not a person’s “private right” rather it’s a gross violation of society’s right to breathe toxic free air AND we should not have to flip the incredibly expensive insurance bills for their medical costs brought on by their deadly choice.
Smoking greatly raises your blood pressure, it makes your blood vessels stiffer, your platelets stickier (promoting clot formation), raises your “bad” cholesterol, lowers your “good” cholesterol and thereby vastly increases your risks for heart disease, heart attack, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, cancer of the lung, mouth, tongue, throat, esophagus, kidney, pancreas and more.
It also causes impotence, because it promotes narrowing of blood vessels.
Smoking is a major contributing factor to Early Death.
Nicotine is a stimulant that increases dopamine secretion in the brain. It’s highly addictive. Some researchers have gone on record to say that nicotine is as physically and psychologically addictive as cocaine and heroin.
The combustion products of burning tobacco leaf release noxious fumes, including carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide (which binds to hemoglobin in red blood cells, interfering with their ability to carry oxygen), as well as quite a few chemical carcinogenic compounds, which bind to DNA, causing mutations and cancers.
Then, there is radioactivity. Cigarette smoke contains small amounts of lead-210 (210Pb) and polonium-210 (210Po), which are both radioactive carcinogens. And because tobacco tars tend to get deposited where bronchioles branch and are resistant to dissolving in lung fluids, they hang around in lung tissue for a long time, giving these radioisotopes a prolonged period to deliver radiation to lung tissues. This is why bronchogenic carcinoma is the most prevalent type of lung cancer and is the type most closely associated with smoking. It has been estimated that a radiation dose of 80-100 rads (a carcinogenic dose) is delivered to the lung tissue of folks who eventually die of lung cancer.
Plastic surgeons routinely demand that potential patients agree to quit their smoking habit, before they will perform plastic procedures because the constriction of the smallest blood vessels inhibits healing and makes the wounds knit much more slowly. It also greatly increases the risk of wound breakdown and infection. It makes your skin behave as though you were a very bad diabetic. It’s even worse if you are a diabetic and smoke.
Fully healed, fresh surgical incisions subsequently break down, requiring additional surgery, to cut back to healthier tissue and repair the damage.
So, what happens if you decide to quit and actually DO IT?
In just 20 minutes after you stop smoking, your blood pressure and pulse, which have been significantly elevated, return close to normal and the temperature of your hands and feet, cooler from vasoconstriction, begin to warm up again. Carbon monoxide levels begin to be reversed, allowing higher levels of oxygen to return to the bloodstream within eight hours of quitting.
By 24 hours, you already have a lower risk of heart attack, but you begin to feel restless and unfocused, as the urge for a cigarette rises in response to your body ridding itself of nicotine.
Two days after quitting smoking, you begin regrowing nerve endings and your sensations of taste and smell are already improved.
But by the third day, you’re in full withdrawal, with strong urges for a smoke. You may temporarily lose your taste for food again; coughing will increase as the body tries to clean your lungs. You can often develop some constipation, too.
By the fourth day, the worst is past. Smell and taste are dramatically improved and breathing becomes easier. This continues into the fifth day as your breathing further improves. By the end of the first week, you feel much better. You smell better and your teeth begin to brighten.
During the next three months, your circulation improves, it becomes easier to walk, phlegm production decreases and lungs become cleaner and more resistant to infection with less coughing and wheezing. You begin to have more energy and less fatigue. Lung function improves with less shortness of breath. Cilia regrow and begin cleaning out the lungs of mucus and debris, reducing the risk of infection.
By one year after quitting, your risk of coronary artery disease and heart attack is HALF what it was and your risk of cancer are greatly decreased, as well.
By the five year mark, your risk for stroke is about the same as a non-smoker.
By ten years, your risk of cancers of the mouth, esophagus, bladder kidney and pancreas are further reduced (though lung cancer risk remains higher than that of a non-smoker).
And by 15 years after quitting, cardiac risk is finally similar to that of a non-smoker.
If you want to add 20 years to your life… quit smoking.
That’s why smoking or being around smoke is one of the major bad habits you and your loved ones MUST quit…especially if you call upon Jesus as “Lord” of your life.
Thank you Dr. Joe and your Medical bag!!!!!!!!!!!!
