Dear Family of Jesus,
Let us thirst for the LORD………..
“Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” – Psalms 25:5
From Max Lucado………
As a Christian you have all the power you need for all the problems you face.
The Bible says your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit who is in you. The question is not “How do I get more of the Spirit?” but rather, “How can you, Holy Spirit, have more of me?”
We’d expect a Mother Teresa-size answer! Build an orphanage. Memorize Leviticus. Bathe lepers. Do this…and be filled, we think!
“Do this on your own and be tired,” God corrects!
Do you desire God’s Spirit? Here’s what you do. He says “everyone who asks will receive. You know how to give good things to your children. How much more your heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him. Luke 11:13″
You can do all things through Christ, who gives you strength. (Philippians 4:13) So, welcome the Spirit into every part of your heart!
PRAISE GOD PRAISE GOD!!
I just received a call at 7:40 this morning sharing a miracle!
A Note on the Door of the Church!
That is how I would title this story! I wondered why I was being delayed by writing the CUP this morning and the Lord had slowed me down……….My friend Steve had not heard from his daughter in 1 1/2 years………….not a word………..when he got to the Church where he works early this morning there was a note taped to the Church’s door from his daughter Sarah! In the note Sarah said she had brought Jesus Christ back into her life and was asking Steve for forgiveness on how she had treated him!!!!! Steve texted me and asked me to call……….he was in tears as his prayer had been answered to hear from his daughter! This is the first step in reconciliation. Let us thank the LORD for this miracle!!! This just came out of the blue, least expected by Steve. Let this be a testimony to all of us this day, The LORD is working on things that we cannot even imagine. What a turn around, and people dare say there are no miracles these days.
Paul, me hero! Can’t wait to meet him! Gladly announces that we are” co-laborers with God” to determine the outcome of events (READ 1 COR 3:9) It is Stoicism that demands a closed universe, NOT THE BIBLE!
Certain things in History will happen if we pray rightly! We are to change the world by prayer. WHAT MORE MOTIVATION DO WE NEED TO LEARN THIS LOFTIEST HUMAN EXERCISE?
The story of Steve and Sarah should be more than enough motivation for all us to get on our knees and pray.and share with our LORD our deepest feelings.
Let us continue to pray for Steve and Sarah! PTL PTL hallelujah!
Let us also pray for Ruby who is in the hospital and at last report was to have surgery today.
Let us pray for rain.
Here is a story that really touched my heart this day, really touched…….What are you seeing today? What are you sharing with others today? What are you holding close to your heart?
The Window
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn’t hear the band – he could see it in his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
Days and weeks passed.
One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.
The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”
There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can’t buy. “Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the PRESENT”.
The story is from Godvive. Yesterday we reported on the death of Debra Valencia 36 years of age, Wife and Mother rear ended by a drunk driver here in Albuquerque. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF REPORTING ON DRUNK DRIVING DEATHS! 66% of drunk driving deaths in New Mexico are caused by repeat offenders! The man, Branden Clark who was driving drunk and struck Debra’s car had been arrested for drunk driving before, but found not guilty. Clark had his four children in his car and his 1 year old baby was not strapped in and suffered a possible concussion. Clark is charge with one count of vehicular homicide and four counts of child abuse.
Valencia, Mother of two, married was on her way home from training for a new nursing assistant Job.
As Pastor Paul Holt and I talked about last night on NM News and Views we must mourn the loss of life, we must mourn the death of Debra, the loss suffered by her husband and children.
We must be in prayer for Debra’s family and Branden’s family. Lives have been changed for ever.
We must pray for the change in the hearts of many toward drunkenness!
Here’s is the Word of our LORD…..
Galatians 5:21 ESV
Envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Proverbs 20:1 ESV
Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.
1 Peter 5:8 ESV
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Isaiah 5:11 ESV
Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may run after strong drink, who tarry late into the evening as wine inflames them!
Proverbs 23:29-35 ESV
Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who tarry long over wine; those who go to try mixed wine. Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup and goes down smoothly. In the end it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder. Your eyes will see strange things, and your heart utter perverse things. …
The Word of our LORD
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. ~Kahlil Gibran
He spake well who said that graves are the footprints of angels. ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
A human life is a story told by God. ~Hans Christian Andersen
To live in hearts we leave behind
Is not to die.
~Thomas Campbell, “Hallowed Ground”
We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.
We must be Salt and Light and share the story of Jesus Christ to defeat drunkenness! Hearts need to be changed! AMEN!

June 19, 2012. You have learned and are practicing something very good and revolutionary. I have seen you over and over again pass up the opportunity to become angry. You know there is no reward in anger, only anxiety and anguish in the end of it. Those hurts that once fueled your anger have become dissipated and without fuel for you anger. You found forgiveness heals wounds and hurts like nothing else. This is good. Another thing I have noticed is that more and more you are overlooking transgressions affecting you. I am so proud of you that you are growing in righteousness to the point not judging the wrongdoers but rather you are praying for and loving them.
Proverbs 19:11 (NASB) “A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression.” Ras Robinson

June 19, 2012. A better attitude is going to make everything go better. Your moodiness makes even you feel bad. You can change your moodiness if you really want to… and you do really want to. The end result, if you don’t change is not going to be good because you’re down attitude is affecting many of those around you. Get your mind on the good of this situation. You have overlooked the good. There is plenty which is good. Yes you will have to look for it and then keep your mind focused there. Don’t let your mind drift back to the “what if’s.” Keep your mind focused. You are a reflection of Me.
1 Corinthians 4:1-2 (NASB) “Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy” Bev Robinson

June 19, 2012. Today marks a significant day in the state of Texas. In 1865, in Galveston, an executive order was issued by Union General Gordon Granger from U.S. President Abraham Lincoln granting freedom to slaves. Juneteenth became a holiday commemorating the day on which African American slaves in Texas learned of the Emancipation Proclamation, which granted them freedom. The Lord says, “I have given you freedom from captivity. Celebrate each and every day the autonomy you have acquired. Shout it from the rooftops. Dance in the streets. This is a time for rejoicing. Join in the revelry and festivities. By Executive Order I have granted you freedom. Celebrate! I have set you free!”

Gluten-Free, Casein-Free Diet Helps Children with Autism
A gluten-free, casein-free diet may lead to improvements in behavior and physiological symptoms in some children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), according to researchers at Penn State. The research is the first to use survey data from parents to document the effectiveness of a gluten-free, casein-free diet on children with ASD.
“Research has shown that children with ASD commonly have GI [gastrointestinal] symptoms,” said Christine Pennesi, medical student at Penn State College of Medicine. “Notably, a greater proportion of our study population reported GI and allergy symptoms than what is seen in the general pediatric population. Some experts have suggested that gluten- and casein-derived peptides cause an immune response in children with ASD, and others have proposed that the peptides could trigger GI symptoms and behavioral problems.”
The team – which included Laura Cousino Klein, associate professor of biobehavioral health and human development and family studies — asked 387 parents or primary caregivers of children with ASD to complete a 90-item online survey about their children’s GI symptoms, food allergy diagnoses, and suspected food sensitivities, as well as their children’s degree of adherence to a gluten-free, casein-free diet. The team’s results appeared online this month in the journal Nutritional Neuroscience.
Pennesi and Klein and their team found that a gluten-free, casein-free diet was more effective in improving ASD behaviors, physiological symptoms and social behaviors for those children with GI symptoms and with allergy symptoms compared to those without these symptoms. Specifically, parents noted improved GI symptoms in their children as well as increases in their children’s social behaviors, such as language production, eye contact, engagement, attention span, requesting behavior and social responsiveness, when they strictly followed a gluten-free, casein-free diet.
According to Klein, autism may be more than a neurological disease – it may involve the GI tract and the immune system.
“There are strong connections between the immune system and the brain, which are mediated through multiple physiological symptoms,” Klein said. “A majority of the pain receptors in the body are located in the gut, so by adhering to a gluten-free, casein-free diet, you’re reducing inflammation and discomfort that may alter brain processing, making the body more receptive to ASD therapies.”
The team found that parents who eliminated all gluten and casein from their children’s diets reported that a greater number of their children’s ASD behaviors, physiological symptoms and social behaviors improved after starting the diet compared to children whose parents did not eliminate all gluten and casein. The team also found that parents who implemented the diet for six months or less reported that the diet was less effective in reducing their child’s ASD behaviors.
According to the researchers, some of the parents who filled out the surveys had eliminated only gluten or only casein from their children’s diets, but survey results suggested that parents who completely eliminated both gluten and casein from their child’s diet reported the most benefit.
“While more rigorous research is needed, our findings suggest that a gluten-free, casein-free diet might be beneficial for some children on the autism spectrum,” Pennesi said. “It is also possible that there are other proteins, such as soy, that are problematic for these children.”
The reason Klein and Pennesi examined gluten and casein is because they are two of the most common “diet offenders.”
“Gluten and casein seem to be the most immunoreactive,” Klein said. “A child’s skin and blood tests for gluten and casein allergies can be negative, but the child still can have a localized immune response in the gut that can lead to behavioral and psychological symptoms. When you add that in with autism you can get an exacerbation of effects.”
Klein’s advice to parents of children with ASD
“If parents are going to try a gluten-free, casein-free diet with their children, they really need to stick to it in order to receive the possible benefits,” she said. “It might give parents an opportunity to talk with their physicians about starting a gluten-free, casein-free diet with their children with ASD.”

How important is the above research data? Critically important! Here are the facts:
Autism Facts and Statistics
– 1% of the population of children in the U.S. ages 3-17 have an autism spectrum disorder.1
– Prevalence is estimated at 1 in 88 births.2
– 1 to 1.5 million Americans live with an autism spectrum disorder.3
– Fastest-growing developmental disability; 1,148% growth rate.4
– 10 – 17 % annual growth.5
– $60 billion annual cost.6
– 60% of costs are in adult services.7
– Cost of lifelong care can be reduced by 2/3 with early diagnosis and intervention.8
– In 10 years, the annual cost will be $200-400 billion.9
– 1% of the adult population of the United Kingdom have an autism spectrum disorder.10
– The cost of autism over the lifespan is 3.2 million dollars per person.11
– Only 56% of students with autism finish high school.12
– The average per-pupil expenditure for educating a child with autism was estimated by SEEP to be over $18,000 in the 1999-2000 school year. This estimate was nearly three times the expenditure for a typical regular education student who did not receive special education services.13
– The unemployment rate for people with disabilities was at 14%, compared with 9% for people without a disability. – Additionally, during the same period, only 21% of all adults with disabilities participated in the labor force as compared with 69% of the non-disabled population.14
