Dear Family of Jesus,
May God be with you all!
Grace, favor, and spiritual blessing to be with you and heart peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God at all times for you because of the grace, the favor and spiritual blessing of God which was bestowed on you in Christ Jesus.
Faith is the willingness to look foolish. AMEN! I don’t care what man thinks of me……I am who I am in Jesus Christ!
The older we get, the more faith we should have because we have experienced more of God’s faithfulness. And it is God’s faithfulness that increases our faith and enlarges our dreams.
My Mom Ruth passed away in January of 1995 of cancer. Sharon will be doing a walk for Cancer in July, Relay for Life. Daughter Gretchen did a Relay for Life a few months ago at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales in memory of her Grandma Ruth.
Mom passed on at age 64 as did my Dad. We lost both parents at a young age. Dad passed on of a heart attack Easter morning the week he retired. Dad has been in heaven now since 1992.
My Mom had one of the most underlined, Bibles I have ever seen!!! She set a great example for us kids. In fact at her funeral, she had Pastor Zeh preach a message to us kid’s! Her eulogy was not about her, it was that us kid’s must draw near to God. WOW! It was a POWERFUL message, Pastor Zeh cried through the message he was delivering that Mom gave him from her death bed. Mom had her funeral all planned out with the help of Pastor Zeh. Mom was setting an example for us kid’s all her life through her funeral.
It is today that I have such a passion for all of us to PRESS INTO GOD……..to Press into HIS GREATNESS! Mom set that example for me years ago……..Keep on growing, pressing into God. The picture I have in my mind is God holding me, hugging me, and me having my ear to his heart. That is the picture I carry with me all days. Just as I will always remember my Mom always hugging me!
As you drink this CUP today………..picture yourself pressing into God…….pressing into his chest for a BIG HUG……where you can hear the heartbeat of God.
Down further we have more on Pressing into God…………
Our Dear, Dear friend Rene supplies her scripture of the day………..

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Thanks so much Rene. God Bless you!

“The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayer-less studies, prayer-less work, and prayer-less religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.”

Let us now go into prayer………..
(Colorado Springs, CO) -- Colorado's Waldo Canyon Fire is keeping about 32-thousand people away from their homes in Colorado Springs. Evacuations last night included part of the US Air Force Academy. Thick, black smoke covered the area yesterday, and a mushroom cloud of smoke rose nearly 20-thousand feet over Pikes Peak. Local authorities say the fire burned homes as it spread last night.
Let us be on our knees praying, these scenes out of Colorado Springs are heartbreaking.
The mountains from Dillard’s..

So many pleas for prayer from Colorado……..My heart aches for all the destruction of the fires in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Montana.
Dear Dewey and Sharon. It is such a Blessing to know that the Only the Holy Spirit can show us the truth. Can reveal the Truth of the Written Word to us. As Jesus said “I must go so that the Holy Spirit can come upon you”.. not word for word.
I am sending you this update on Jim’s New life in his wheelchair. And my son’s New Life that he is experiencing. His outlook on life is much different now. I am so very thankful that God’s Plan IS…. We know not what will happen in the next second. But HE knows and that is sufficient for us who Know Him.
Jim will be coming home on the 6th of July. They have taught him a lot, he is in Rehab for six hours a day. I Truly thought he would be in a lot longer, but they do things Quicker these days. He is accepting his situation, but I have told My son that I believe his true Knowledge of the difference in his life will hit him after he gets home. Right now everyone is at his beck and call, at home he will have time to think. I am Praying our Lord will fill his heart, and show him His Plan!
My son has been the ‘Foreman’ of remodeling Jim’s home so he can shower and enter it with no problem. there have many Donations for Jim and his family. A lot have come in and so far Everything has been met.
Please keep Jim in your prayers. For him to see his Future, I just know he will be a Great Witness for God’s Mercy. God’s Peace Sam
We are praying Sam! Thank you so much for sharing! We love you!
At the start of the CUP I shared with you about Pressing into God……..Keep on pressing into Him. Mom taught me a lot about that. Pastor Bill Ruhl since he walked into my life about a year ago has stressed that to me constantly. Let me share with you some write ups that have really touched me…….just one more thing, with the wildfires raging across the SW and all the other challenges we have…..we must press into God……
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14 KJV).
Press Into New Depths of God!
Sandra Thompson
Feb 11, 2005
I hear God saying “Come to Me, My child! Learn more of Me! Seek Me until you find Me as your Answer! Pull upon Me! Draw from Me! You will find Me when you really search for Me with ALL of your heart!” Jeremiah 29:12&13.
This describes ‘pressing into God’. Have you ever had to or have you ever taken the time to really ‘press’ into new depths of God? A few years ago when I was going through a great devastating trial, I discovered what ‘pressing into God’ means. God had shown me my next step, but I couldn’t understand it, so I went to a church I highly respected and talked with one of the pastors. They assured me that God would never show me to do what I said He did. The Holy Spirit began crying within me and by the time I got to my car I was sobbing uncontrollably. God spoke to me in an audible voice and confirmed that what He said to me was the Truth and is what I needed to do, even though it did not make sense and I surely did not understand. I had to make a decision as to what to do. Would I follow man and logic or would I follow God and the unexplainable instructions He gave me? I looked to the heavens and I determined I would ‘press into God’ despite what man said and follow what I could not understand.
‘Pressing into God’ and hanging on when not one single person understood me, brought me complete victory and brought me into greater depths of God than I even knew was possible! You may not be called upon to go through something as extreme as this, but you will have opportunities to ‘press into God’.
When you determine to ‘seek God’ and keep on ‘seeking’, praying to God for the ‘answer’ to your situation you will find Him. Don’t give up because He didn’t answer within your limited time frame! God many times uses these ‘times’ to s-t-r-e-t-c-h us and to see if we will keep on ‘pressing in’, keep on seeking Him. The amazing thing is that by being s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d to what seems beyond our limits, actually results in a deeper relationship with our Father God!
The Bible has many, many verses that talk about ‘seeking’ God and to keep on ‘seeking’ Him. This so pleases God. He wants to see our determination to find Him as the Answer. We grow to ‘new depths of God’ in these times. It is great if you can find someone to join you in your ‘seeking time’, but only if they point you to God and help you to ‘seek Him’ and not man and man’s logic!
It will be easier to ‘press into God’ if you have first of all learned to ‘seek God, Who He Is and His Righteousness’. The Bible says that then ‘all you need will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33.
When you discover that God is really what you need, it will be much easier to ‘press into new depths of God’! He has so much in store waiting for you. Do you know Him as an exciting God that is far beyond even your greatest expectation? PRESS IN!

Heart-training is Heart-Turning!
The Spiritual Activity
of Turning to God!
Repent by “Turning”
The Bible says we should, “…obey the Lord…turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul” (Deut. 30:10). Turning your heart to God requires that you re-train your loves and affections to be toward the Lord. Increase your heart-felt love and affection to “drink” from the shine from His face and turning to Him will become a natural response.
But make no mistake about it. Turning your soul toward God is a spiritual activity that is an actual act of turning. It isn’t repentance without turning. The Bible also says we should, “Repent and turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all your abominations” (Eze. 14:6). We have to turn and actually face toward God. King David is our best example. It says of him, “I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken” (Psa. 16:8).
It is very important for you to note that it is your delight to abide inside the radiance around God as your security and strength that will make it easy for you to turn and face toward Him: “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Mat. 6:21). I have found that the principle of treasuring God works best when you apply it in the context of your thirst for His presence as your refuge, glory, and strength. Be wise in your pursuit of God. Use your thirst for God to your advantage! Let your heart enjoy the abundance of His grace.
Before I started Heart-training, I didn’t understand that it was possible to actually turn toward God and ‘set’ my heart on Him. I thought “turning to God” was just Bible talk that was better to ignore. I was wrong. “Turning” is a spiritual activity that should not be overlooked and dismissed as just “Bible talk.”
This next Pressing into God write up is by Albert Finch…….
Pressing Into God
As Christians, we need to spend more time listening to God than anything else. When we do hear the Lord, creative power and life flow through His words.
Every word God speaks is creative.
Psalm 107:20 — “He sent His Word and He Healed them.”
One of the most crucial areas in which believers fall short in is pressing into God. Many pray briefly about decisions, then merely do what seems like common sense, not acquiring the mind of the Lord at all. But God must be sought.
Hebrews 11:6 — “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
In the parable of the unrighteous judge. Jesus taught the disciples about prayer, teaching them how to pray and not lose heart.
Luke 18:2-6 — “There was a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected men. And there was a widow in that same town who kept coming to him and pleading for her rights: ‘Help me against my opponent!’ For a long time the judge was not willing, but at last he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or respect men, yet because of all the trouble this widow is giving me I will see to it that she gets her rights; or else she will keep on coming and finally wear me out?'” And the Lord continued, “Listen to what that corrupt judge said.”
The temptation, when we first pray about something is to lose heart, or give up. But God will speak clearly to us if we press into Him. Often it is necessary to pray until you feel (and know) your spirit is breaking through.
Luke 5:5 — ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught noting; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.’
When Jesus told His disciples to ‘Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch,’ Peter almost aborted the creative word of God. He made the classic mistake of letting his brain interfere with the voice of the Lord. After all, the disciples had been fishing all night, with no results.
Our most troublesome enemy of the creative flow, other than the devil, is our analytical mind. God’s commands don’t always seem reasonable but they always bear fruit.
God cannot be manipulated by what we know or what we say. When we don’t listen for his voice we are in danger of presumption. But when He speaks to listening ears, His words are creative. And the results are awesome.
Affirmations
I live to hear His voice and then believe what He says.
I stay in the creative flow of the Holy Spirit since I am willing to lay down my initiative and let the Holy Spirit take control.

You have become a new creation, someone priceless and pleasing to Me. So it is with you My love, you precious one. You are playing and running in the light of a new day now. Isn’t it fun! This is a course set for you to travel for the rest of your life. You have believed that this kind of light of day is only intended for brief interludes. Not so. Welcome to My Kingdom life. June 27, 2012. Prepare for a good day which is on its way. Many things you have prayed for are coming together. I always act in the fullness of time. Many of My children don’t realize this and cause themselves unnecessary anxiety. Be at peace and don’t let your emotions run your life. Let Me run your life. If you will keep your thoughts on Me and My goodness, life will be so much more pleasant for you. Anxiety is not good for your body or your soul. You have an opportunity with each thought to rein it in and get it focused on My grace and goodness. Don’t waste time on anything else.
Ephesians 1:9-10 (NASB) “He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him.” Bev Robinson

June 27, 2012. Do you ever have words scroll across the screen of your brain that you have no earthly idea what they mean? The word: burgeon, just rolled across my brain. I’ve heard the word before but didn’t know its meaning. By definition it means to produce new growth and flourish or develop rapidly. This word also comes at a time of year when in the natural, Texas has begun to hit triple-digit temperatures over 100 degrees. The Lord says, “Regardless of what obstacles come against you in the natural. I want to prosper you and see you swell and develop when all else becomes parched and barren. Receive with open arms My abundant proliferation.
2 Corinthians 5:18 (MSG) “Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other.” Kevin Robinson

Causes of ADHD
How do you get attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD)? Some assign blame to poor parenting, incompetent teachers, or watching too much TV, but none of these things are the cause of ADHD or ADD.
Another theory that has been floating around over the years is that refined sugar and food additives make children hyperactive, but scientists at the National Institutes of Health found that this may only apply to about 5% of children with ADHD – either very young children or those with food allergies. Others have thought that injuries to the brain are behind the attention disorder, but the vast majority of people with ADHD have no history of a brain injury or evidence of brain damage.
The underlying causes of ADHD have yet to be fully understood, says Andrew Gilbert, a psychiatrist at the Hallowell Center in New York City. Dr. Gilbert specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in children and adults. “There are clearly genetic factors, but genes don’t explain it all,” he says. “It appears that environmental factors, such as perinatal stress, low birth weight, and maternal smoking during pregnancy, can contribute. Recent studies have recognized differences in brain development/maturation in children and adolescents with ADHD compared to those without the disorder.”
According to Mayo Clinic, you’re at risk of ADHD if any of the following apply:
– Your blood relatives, such as a parent or sibling, have ADHD or another mental health disorder. (According to the Attention Deficit Disorder Association, if one person in a family is diagnosed with ADHD, there is a 25% to 35% probability that another family member will have it, compared to a 4% to 6% probability for someone in the general population.)
– Your mother smoked, drank alcohol, or used drugs during pregnancy.
– Your mother was exposed to toxins, such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) during pregnancy.
– You were exposed to environmental toxins as a child. (Lead found mainly in paint and pipes in older buildings has been linked to a short attention span, among other behavioral problems.
– You were born prematurely.
“Effective treatments, such as stimulants, target neurotransmitters, including dopamine and norepinephrine, which are involved in attention-regulating brain circuits,” Gilbert says. “These and other treatments may be helping to rewire dysfunctional circuitry, but more studies are needed to confirm this and better understand the mechanisms.”
Tomorrow we’ll learn about ADHD and coexisting mental health conditions…
Thanks Dr. Joe
