Dear Family of Jesus,
Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by for a CUP!
“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” – Hebrews 4:14
God will often use a trial to move you into your destiny. From Tony Evans
“Fear looks; faith jumps. Faith never fails to obtain its object. If I leave
you as I found you, I am not God’s channel. I am not here to entertain you, but to get you
to the place where you can laugh at the impossible.” Smith Wiggleswoth

Gotta love the honesty of a child … oh my … so I would love to avoid a little responsibilty sometimes, but the details never go away … so the government guy calls for the monthly PayRoll info for a random survey that our company has been selected for … and yes it drives me nuts cuz of what it is and how often the calls come in until I get time to collect all the info…3rd call this morning…I tell Daniel “run and answer the phone” while I pull up the screen ~ Honest Child of mine hands me the phone while telling this government agent “My mom says you are driving her nuts! ” lol we both laughed cuz it is true, but I did explain that it is not him it is the never ending responsibilties! LOL got the giggles 2 times through that survey! 🙂 Hope this brightened someones day!
LOL! LOL! LOL!
I love this by Adrian Rogers…………
How Do I Get More Light?
BIBLE MEDITATION:
“Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.” Psalm 119:34
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Is God righteous? Yes! How is the righteousness of God revealed? “From faith to faith.” How does that work? God gives you truth…you believe that truth…God gives you more truth.
The more you obey the light, the more light you get.
The reason some of us don’t understand the Bible any more than we do is because we have not been living up to the light God has already given us! If you want to understand the part of the Bible you don’t understand, begin to obey the part you do understand and you’ll understand what you didn’t understand. Do you understand?
ACTION POINT:
Ask God for faith that will reveal to you the hidden truths of His Word that are hard for you to understand right now.
Great stuff from Adrian Rogers.
The Holy Spirit is our Helper, our guide. Let me say that a recent poll sadly stated that the majority of so called Christians do not believe in the Holy Spirit. Please read Charles Stanley’s book on the Holy Spirit you will never be the same!
I count on the Holy Spirit to guide me through every minute of my day. I pray constantly. How does one get through the day without the Holy Spirit?
How does one get through the day without prayer?
How does one get through the day without hearing from God?
I want more light……I want a closer relationship with Jesus Christ……..My life is all about my relationship with Jesus, Sharon, the Kids, My Church/Ministry.
My testimony to you this day is to be in tuned with Jesus every minute of your day.
We have so much trouble in this World because people are not hearing Jesus Christ.
People are going off on their own will.
Many Christians, many Pastor’s are way off track.
Please listen, Man has made Religion, man has made it complicated and Religion has as many flavors as Baskin Robbins Ice Cream.
There is only one God and His Word, no other, no other version, too many Pastor’s even water down the Word of God these days.
Let us Go to God’s Word each morning and into prayer and watch God’s Word become part of you! AMEN!
It is up to you as an individual to seek God, with the guidance of Godly mentor’s.
The Holy Spirit will let you know if you are on the right track, but first you have to have a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The solution to life’s struggles is Jesus Christ.
I do not know what folks do without Jesus Christ, or what folks do with a 50% commitment to Jesus……..How are you doing on that front?
Can you tell me what flavor of chewing gum Jesus chews? LOL! or if he chews gum at all? Thats how close I pray you get to Jesus Christ!
Life is hard………even with Jesus, without Jesus life is Hell and that’s where folks will go that do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pastor Steve Smothermon said the other day, “If you are not working on your marriage, you are working on your divorce!
Let me say, If you are not working on your relationship with Jesus Christ…………..I will let you fill in the blank………
What is the first thing you think of when you get up?
What is the first thing you do?
What guides you through out the day?
How do you make decisions during the day?
Do you have Godly Mentor’s you talk to during the day?
What in your life dis-honors God?
Yes, I have lot’s of questions for you!!! LOL LOL It’s because I love you!
I have one answer to all of the above……Jesus Christ! AMEN!
He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Psalm 23:3
Lead, Kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom,
Lead thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home;
Lead thou me on!
Guide thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene; one step enough for me.
John Henry Newman 1801-1890
After yesterday’s posting Darlene Quiring sent me this from Author Susan Shumsky…..I always talk about how I hear the Lord…..Well, I do, and I Praise God for that!
I have been Preaching, Do not put God in a Box………and Susan’s comments relate to that. The Key here is having a Personal relationship with Jesus Christ……….
Susan Shumsky: It is a rare gift to be called to hear the voice of God. By reading this article, you demonstrate faith in the prospect that two-way communication with God is feasible. This is indeed atypical. The fact that you even consider this possibility places you in a unique category of uncommon individuals. For example, were you raised in a family, religion, or educational institution where you learned that God could speak to you directly? Few people reading these words can answer “yes.
” Many people believe that God exists, yet few believe that God hears their prayers or answers them. Fewer believe that God is accessible and can talk to them. Exceptional people are willing to allow God to speak to them directly, but only extraordinary individuals act on what God guides them to do. Do you want to be one of these people? If so, you are rare and unique.
We are taught from an early age that when we talk to God it is called “prayer,” but when God talks to us, it is called”schizophrenia.
” If you were to enter a psychiatric office today and report that God speaks to you, what would be the reaction? You would be diagnosed with mental illness and walk out with a prescription for psychotropic drugs.
We often read about murdererseven mothers who slaughter their own babieswho claim that voices in their heads told them to commit murder. We hear of cult leaders who believe that God demands that their followers commit suicide. No wonder the widespread belief is that people who claim to hear God’s voice are insane.
We are conditioned to believe that the only people sanctioned to have authentic conversations with God are great prophets, saints, holy men (I emphasize the word “men”), and other holy beings that lived at least two thousand years ago in some faraway land. These holy men wrote one booka book literally written in stone. After that book was written, apparently, God has gone muteand has not spoken to anyone since.
Right? Wrong: I believe these holy men have not signed an exclusive contract with God. They have no special combination to a padlocked, hallowed safe with elite access. Some religious institutions would have you believe that they own the secret passkey and, without their sanction, no one can walk through the doorway to heaven.
Billions of people are resigned to the idea that they cannot experience God directlycertainly not while they are still breathing. Sadly, such people eagerly await death, when they will enter the glorious gates of paradise and finally catch a glimpse of God’s presence. They never conceive that they could directly experience God in this body during this lifetime.
The widespread belief is that God’s blessing and grace are inaccessible without a middleman, such as a pastor, minister, priest, cleric, rabbi, guru, master, shaman, psychic, channeler, counselor, or priestess. Most of these go-betweens have the best of intentions, but regrettably, either intentionally or unwittingly, some of them become hucksters swathed in a veneer of spirituality, hawking their products to the masses.
Such salespeople have no incentive to help people hear God’s voice directly. To use an analogy from the world of sales, if their customers were to have such experiences, then these retailers would soon be out of business. For their clients would “cut out the middleman” and “go direct.
”
The Pearl of Great Price: At the risk of giving away the “pearl of great price”the most precious secret of the agesin this article, I will tell you right now how you can hear the voice of God. This gift comes with no strings attached. You will not be required to convert to a religion, join a cult, venerate a guru, empty your bank account, or sacrifice your firstborn child. I will tell you right now how to “go direct.
” So here goesa simple way to listen to the “still small voice” of God, right here and now, absolutely FREE:
Just sit down in a chair, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, get quiet, still, centered, and balanced within yourself, and then simplyASK. That is the entire secret. ASK. Ask a question, ask for guidance, ask for inspiration or healing. Then take another deep breath and do what I call the “Do-Nothing Program.
” That means, do nothing, nothing, and less than nothing. Then the “still small voice” will speak to you in your heart.
So the key to hearing God’s voice is to ASK. The trouble is that we forget to ask. Or we think we cannot ask.
Or we think God is too busy for us. Is God too busy for you? Could God be too busy for anyone? If you believe God is too busy to pay attention to you, then you have a very limited idea of what God is.
God could never be too busy. God is not bound by time, space, or circumstances. Therefore, God cannot get tired or overworked. God does not only pay attention to “important” people and things. Everyone and everything is important to God. God does not play favorites. God is not available to only a select few so-called “holy” people. God is everywhere present and always available to anyone who asks.
From Pastor Tony Evans…………
When I was only ten years old, I never knew much more than what would be considered chaos around the home. As the oldest of four children, I experienced the atmosphere the longest and it was, for all of us, volatile. My father and mother were in constant conflict making divorce seem like the only possible outcome in our future. But what my dad modeled for me the year that I turned ten forever changed my life. That was the year my dad was converted. He became an instant evangelist, wanting to share God’s Word with everyone and wanting to model his life after it in any way that he could.
My mom wasn’t too taken in by the changes in my dad at first. She tried everything she could to make his life difficult. My dad couldn’t even read his Bible until after my mom went turn in for the night because she would make his life so miserable if she caught him trying to. But my dad was committed to God and His Word so he did everything that he could to show my mom love in spite of how she treated him.
My dad loved her unconditionally. He tried to find ways to show her his commitment and love, but nothing seemed to worked. My dad was calm, consistent and caring, though, which continued to model Christ’s love and desire for the home to my mother.
Around midnight one night, my mom came down the stairs with tears in her eyes. My dad was reading his Bible since he usually read it after everyone had gone to sleep so as to not upset her. But when he saw her tears, he asked her what was wrong. She told him that she could not understand how the more she rejected him, was unkind to him and tried to prove that what he believed in God was wrong, the more kind he was to her and the more he poured himself into the Word. “I want what you have,” she said, “because it must be real.” They both instantly got down on their knees and my dad led my mom to Christ. After that, he led all of us kids to Christ and daily modeled for us the value of making God and His Word the central focus in all that you do.
My dad’s firm commitment to living life by honoring God in all that he did eventually had won my mother over not only to the Lord but also to him. As a result, the rest of us children got saved and our lives have forever been changed.
The impact of a father on a home – the impact of a husband on a marriage – cannot be emphasized enough. My own father’s impact dramatically altered the trajectory of my life, and as a result, has impacted more people than he will ever know this side of heaven. I thank God for my father and pray that He will raise up fathers just like him across our nation.

July 31, 2012. Women, this is your day and your season. I have a friend who has been discriminated against in ministry because of her gender. God is bringing about light and revelation so that this is about to change. The Holy Spirit has been preparing a female generation for this hour and for the hours to come. I had the pleasure of advocating for my wife in ministry. She is as godly as anyone I know. Her command of Scripture and her prolific wisdom in matters concerning others is phenomenal. She has raised up our two children as oaks of righteousness and blossoming vines in God’s vineyard. In like manner she has helped shape and mold her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is a legend in her own time. As a wife, she lacks nothing! Look around you and see the great number of female spiritual leaders of today. Women, seize this hour! We are in a new season of grace.
Proverbs 31:27-31 (NASB) “She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and bless her; her husband also, and he praises her, saying: many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.” Ras Robinson

July 31, 2012. Just keep praying. Just keep hoping. Just keep believing. I know sometimes you have a dip in faith, but you don’t entertain doubt very long. You visit doubt briefly. Then you quickly get back into faith. It’s good that you exhibit that the righteous live by faith. Occasional doubt will not keep the promise from happening. Some doubt is normal, but you don’t stay there and this is good. I am pleased with your progress and journey in faith. You know I am there and you turn to Me when you need to. This is good. Keep growing and believing and your promise will suddenly materialize.
Hebrews 11:6 (NASB) “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Bev Robinson

July 31, 2012. The status quo will not suffice any longer. It is not acceptable in society. Neither is the current state within My church acceptable. Prepare yourself for another type of revolution, much like the industrial revolution of the past. Only this time it will be a spiritual one. I’m about to pour unfamiliar signs and wonders among you, like none of you have ever heard or seen before. Do not close your mind to the upcoming phenomena. Be willing to have your horizon expanded. Embrace My power surge surrounding you. Look intently for My supernatural presence in the natural.
Isaiah 43:2 (NASB) “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you.” Kevin Robinson
Let’s hear from Doctor Joe!
The sun is dangerous—its rays can give you melanoma and can kill you. Don’t go out on a summer’s day without wearing either SPF 97 sun block or a lead lined flannel shirt. Yep, the sun is right up there with trans-fats, cigarettes, and unprotected sex as a threat to our health; or so we are told.
What is dangerous is getting a sun burn and “excessive” exposure to the sun. Being out in the sun is not necessarily unhealthy. The sun is, after all, necessary for vitamin D metabolism. The band of radiation between 290 and 315 nm is necessary for the conversion of provitamin D3 to previtamin D3. Eventually the previtamin D3 is thermally converted in the skin. A sun block rated as low as SPF 8 can stop this process. Vitamin D is inherently inactive, and is converted by hydroxylation in the liver and kidney to its active form, 1, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D.
Limiting exposure to the sun may create other health problems by creating a vitamin D deficiency. Let’s take cancer for instance, one study, in the July-August, 2006 issue of Anticancer Research, makes the suggestion that sunlight and the production vitamin D may reduce the risk of several cancers. There are other studies that indicate that vitamin D may protect us from cancer.
Activated vitamin D reduces inflammatory chemicals (cytokines) and increases the effectiveness of certain white blood cells. It stimulates potent antimicrobial peptides found in white blood cells and in the cells lining the respiratory tract.
According to the Mayo Clinic Proceedings (December 9, 2003), vitamin D deficiency is one possible cause of persistent and vague musculoskeletal pain. A study of 150 children and adults suffering from vague musculoskeletal pain found that 93% of the subjects were vitamin D deficient. Of the subjects involved with the study, all of the African, African-American, Hispanic and Native Americans were vitamin D deficient, as well as all of the subjects under the age of 30. These are people who have ancestors who lived in areas where there is a lot of exposure to the sun. Dark skinned people living in Northern latitudes tend to be deficient in vitamin D. Consider this when dealing with chronic pain that seems to resist other treatment. The worst vitamin D deficiencies were found in women of child-bearing age.
According to the Nov. 12, 2003 edition of the Pain Management issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, the cost of treating pain unsuccessfully is $61.2 billion per year. This study shows that there may be, at least in some patients, a very simple answer for this common problem.
Vitamin D deficiency is associated with a risk for osteoporosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, and auto-immune diseases such as multiple sclerosis. Inadequate vitamin D is also harmful for developing fetuses, and is the cause rickets of in children.
More researchers are now becoming concerned about vitamin D deficiency. Avoiding the sun definitely reduces vitamin D. As always, good health involves balance. I suggest that if you are not able to be in the direct sunlight for up to 20 minutes a day that you take a vitamin D3 supplement; one 5000 IU tablet with a meal.
